Just one day after the Major League Lacrosse 2007 Supplemental Draft the Long Island Lizards were quick to acquire three players that they feel will prove helpful to their success for the 2007 season. Sean Hartofilis a 2003 Princeton University graduate; Rob Bonaguro, Hofstra University Class of 2006; and Stephen Byrnes from UMASS who played for the Lizards last season.

Sean Hartofilis (Huntington, NY) was a three time All-American selection and a three time All-Ivy selection for the Princeton Tigers and helping them to a National Championship in 2001. Sean is a lefty attackman who the Lizards hope to utilize in the 2007 season. Sean spent last season with the LA Riptide as he was their third pick (21st overall) in the 2006 Supplemental Draft.

Midfielder Rob Bonaguro (Massapequa, NY) notched 6 goals and 11 assists totaling 17 points playing in only 12 of Hofstra’s 19 games (due to injury) in 2006 . As a junior he played in all 16 games tallying 14 goals and 3 assists for a total of 17 points. Rob’s career high for goals was three against Princeton (2005) in a 9-8 win; and his career high for Assists came in his senior campaign with 3 assists in an 11-6 victory over Johns Hopkins.

The Lizards reacquired Stephen Byrnes (Mahopac, NY). Byrnes a 6’1 Defenseman was a member of the 2006 Lizards as he was picked up by Long Island in the 2006 supplemental draft, and earned a spot on the team’s roster with and impressive training camp.
