Postby Brent Burns on Thu Dec 07, 2006 9:04 pm

Here is the link to the 2006 College Football Awards that was just completed by ESPN sponsored by Home Depot:

The last one left is the annual Heisman Trophy award coming up this Saturday.

Just noticed that there are two guys who won their respective awards twice:

Chuck Bednarik Award for Defensive POY: Paul Posluszny, Penn State (2005, 2006)

Ray Guy Award for Best Punter: Daniel Sepulveda, Baylor (2004, 2006)

That is such crap. How the hell did Posluszny win the Bednarik award????? That guy was not even the best LB on his team.

BUMP

Since most are determined that Troy Smith with Ohio State will win the Heisman Memorial Award, will either Brady Quinn or Darren McFadden pull an upset?

What do you think what the voters have decided?

They should have the award for the most overhyped QB that can't pass against any decent team and call it the Brady Quinn Forgettable Award.

I'm going to have to agree with Tony Kornheiser on this one...
Notre Dame's Brady Quinn and Arkansas' Darren McFadden have won all expense paid trips to New York on Saturday to see Troy Smith win the Heisman

I know it might be a long shot, but if someone's going to be second, I hope it's McFadden. Brady had his opportunities in big games this year, and with three INT's against Michigan, and ending the season with a loss to USC, he didn't really stand out the way the other two players have.

You mean the Ron Powlus award? He was suppose to win 4 Heismans according to good ol' Beano Cook.

Ron Powlus will be the first player in history to win three Heisman trophies.
