Former President Clinton announced Thursday that two Indian pharmaceutical companies had agreed to cut the prices of HIV and AIDS treatment for children, making the lifesaving drugs far more accessible worldwide.

The companies will supply drugs for HIV-positive children at prices as low as 16 cents a day, or less than $60 a year, alllowing an additional 100,000 HIV-positive children in 62 countries to receive treatment in 2007, the foundation said.

You know it's a shame that the Bush whitehouse cut off funding for African contraceptive outreach and support. In South Africa currently, if you are under the age of 7, dying of AID's is now the number one killer.

No, we must preach abstinence to a society that is rooted in multiple partners. Works about as well as it does here.

I heard a stat last night - less than 50% of the teenagers in S. Africa will live to see adulthood. Absolutely shocking, and devastating for the country. Unfortunately their gov't should take some blame, refusing to admit that there was such an epidemic going on for the longest time.
