Ohio State is in, so who will play them in the title game?

Postby Brent Burns on Sat Nov 18, 2006 11:29 pm

Ohio State got their place in the sun in the championship game that will be played in Arizona by winning 42-39 over Michigan. The question is will it be the Wolverines again to play the Buckeyes in the title game? On their heels are the Gators and the Trojans.

Rutgers is already out with a 11-30 loss to Cincinnati, and the Scarlet Knights will have to duke it out with the Mountaineers on Dec. 2 for the Big East title. Both are now 4-1.

I doubt Boise State would get in eventhough they are now 11-0. Will they campaign hard and make a lot of noises?

What say ye?

That UM linebacker Crable looked very uncomfortable at the end when he drew the roughing penalty after the Wolverines held the Buckeyes on downs. It was the right call, and OSU made them pay by scoring the winning TD soon after. Woulda, coulda, shoulda...

My worst fear... OSU winning a close, high scoring game at home by 3 or fewer. I'm a little worried we might see a rematch.

I would love to see a rematch and I am not saying that because I am a Big Ten-guy.

Today's game was great.

Im going to have to agree here, that was one of the best games I have seen in a long time. Ok so Michigan lost to OSU by 3, thats the #2 team losing to the #1 team. I really dont care to see USC in the game, I mean they were upset by an unranked team, while UM only lost by 3 to the #1 team in the land. Im interested to see how things work out, but my vote goes for a rematch!

Florida or USC will play OSU. If they both finish the season with 1 loss they have good strength of schedules...even though USC lost to an unranked team.

USC - Arkansas, Nebraska, Oregon, Cal, Notre Dame (assuming),

Florida - (in 6 weeks) Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Georgia...too bad Florida State turned out to be a disappointment because that's not a completely unreasonable foe to schedule at the end of the season. Not to mention they'll play 1-loss Arkansas in the SELC title game.

If Florida doesnt lose...they'll go. If Arkansas wins the SEC...USC will go. Michigan had their shot...sorry to say that both Michigan and OSU's coaches have no idea how/when to call a timeout. Pathetic. Best game IMHO would be Florida since they actually have DB's that know what they're doing. Michigan...notsomuch.

USC will beat Notre Dame and UCLA and play OSU in the title game. SEC not looking as strong as once thought. Arkansas and Florida do not look as strong as OSU, Michigan, USC.

I remmy the Jeopardy style question that Sonny posed in the thread he started by asking how long will Ohio State and Michigan have to wait to find out if they will be in the BCS title game.

If USC wins out? USC.
If USC loses, and Florida wins out? Florida.
If USC loses, and Florida losses to Arkansas? Arkansas.
If USC loses, and Florida losses to Arkansas, but Arkansas loses to LSU?

Back to Michigan. Even then, Michigan might trump Arkansas in some poles, but that would be unfair in my eyes.

No voter will put Notre Dame ahead of Michigan. God knows I wouldn't.

This sounds like the best contingency, no way ND makes it after their obliteration by Michigan at home, Im not sure if michigan should make it as they didnt win there conference, however OU made it in 2003 after they lost their Big 12 championship game. God help us if OSU loses the National Championship and we have another split champion.

And god help me in UF are the holders of both the b-ball and football national championships, Im still feeling quesy from Jo Kim Noah's (i have no idea how to spell his name) ugly mug on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

No doubt Ohio State was the better team yesterday. If that game was played at the big house, I think MI wins. Michigan couldn't take the crowd out of the game and the OU players kept the fans in the game too. The OU players were feeding off that energy all game.

I think a rematch isn't out of the question. The best 2 teams should play. I didn't feel that way going into the game, but after seeing the game, I would love to see a rematch, at a neutral site.
