There were a couple I've heard floating around. I think was that it was a joke, and the other one I think was that she 'couldn't hear who won and was asking, "What?"'

What, Faith Hill can't just be pissed off that some no-talent, contest-winning, nobody beat her out for an award? Why does there have to be an excuse about it? She lost, and, here's a quick news flash for those not in the know: Nobody likes losing, and especially when it's to someone who's only famous because she won a glorified "talent" show on TV.
