It was a great day for lacrosse. Sunny and about 75 deg. The finals are listed in the article. Very productive event for our team and freshmen. I'm not sure how many are familiar with Bishops University. They are a Canadian school close to Montreal. Great guys and probably the best ground ball team I've ever seen at any level, ever!
Scores at half were......
CMU 1 Bishops 3
CMU 1 SHU 2
CMU 0 St Vincent 3
CMU 1 Less Mcrae 2
Next up for us is a controlled, situational scrimmage with Pitt on Wednesday @ CMU. It will take place on the IM field, which is adjacent to the stadium around 8:30pm.
The Carnegie Mellon men’s lacrosse club opened its 2006 fall season on Saturday, playing four games at the Colonial Fall Classic — a day-long tournament hosted by Robert Morris University. The Tartans faced Bishop’s University, Seton Hill University, Saint Vincent College, and Lees-McRae College — falling to all four teams.

I thought your coach did a fine job reffing and who could fault me for my acute eye on the game clock.
It was good to finally get the guys playing some "real" ball, thanks for helping us out and making the trip. We look forward to working more of these scrimmages into our winter schedule now that we have the new Woodland Sportsplex opening down the road in a few days.
If other teams are interested in scrimmages this winter, drop me a line, but not until Nov. when I back from the HI tourney.

Pitt-Grove City
Grove City hosted Pitt in a scrimmage last night. Both teams played hard through 4 20 minute running quarters in light rain for most of the night. At the end of the game Pitt came out on top 9-3. Both teams played full rosters throughout the game and it was great opportunity for both teams to get a better feel of their respective teams.
Pitt was a well-coached team and played like sportsmen the entire night. Grove City would like to thank Pitt for helping ref and coming up to play us at our new facility.

Just wanted to say how impressed I was by Eastern's play yesterday. They only came with around 12 guys and no goalie, but were a classy, solid, talented team. Coach Hick's seems to be doing a great job.

Good Day of Lax
Thanks to MSU and Waverly for having the day of lacrosse. It was a great opportunity see all the talent we have here in Michigan. I'd also like to thank the goalies from CMU and MSU for lending us a hand. Don't worry, we'll have our own in the spring.
We'll see you guys in the spring...with a goalie and more than 12 guys, I hope.

The were 25 minute running halves.
I don't recall exactly, so forgive me if I'm wrong:
MSU 6 - CMU 2
MSU 7 - EMU 5
MSU 6 - OU 2
EMU 8 - CMU 6
I can't remember the others so I won't even attempt a guess.

CMU-GCC Scrimmmage
Grove City would like to thank CMU for coming up to Grove City on a cold Tuesday night. It was great opportunity for both squads to get some work in. Unfortunately both teams suffered injuries to key players, hopefully they'll both be healthy for the spring. Final score was 7-5 CMU, coming back after being down 4-2. Both teams looked alittle thin due to other commitments of players in the fall.

Very light squad on Tuesday. We are seeing a rash of injuries this fall. We have 5 starters from last season out currently. You know, it helps to get the freshmen and backups some good time on the field though. Always a positive in there somewhere.
