Duke Rape Suspects Speak Out:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/10/ ... 2140.shtml
Missed the 60 minutes segment tonight. Hopefully someone caught the segment on YouTube.
Bad News for Duke
I watched it. Great reporting.
The second dancer was interviewed and refutes some of the things the accuser was stating, such as the timeline and how long they were apart in the house.
A duke legal professor was also interviewed and basically stated that the DA has screwed up so badly that even if they are convicted that the conviction will probably be thrown out because of prosecuter misconduct.

It was pretty eye opening. In many ways. After watching the segment and seeing 60 minutes lay out the evidence. It's going to be a tough case for the prosecutor. The line up was completely illegal, stories don't match time frames, the other "entertainer" discounts her story, her story changed multiple times, and no DNA. The only evidence is her exam at the hospital and the results were consistent with consensual sex, which she had with her boyfriend. The bumps and bruises she supposedly received as a result of the rape were proven false by pictures taken at the party. I'm not sure where Nifong is going with this anymore?

The New Yorker article I referenced earlier did a very good job laying out the evolution of the case in the early days, as well as Wilfong's actions.
It has been shown to be such a blatantly contrived case, the real crime now is that the charges haven't been dismissed. The players now have to wait until Spring for the case to go to court and then have the whole thing thrown out. I hope the judge rips on Wilfong for prosecutorial misconduct.
I have to say, when the story first broke it sounded like a very heinous and plausible crime - then the truth comes out. It's very important in this time of 24 hr instant news cycles that we don't just react to "Breaking News".

It's on Sunday nights?
I thought that I had read that it was on all week covering the Duke case.

If I was one of the players, and the case does get thrown out on prosecuter misconduct you had better believe that I am going after the DA's office.

Why Corbin? They're all spoiled rich boys that are most likely flying in their parent's jets to their yacht along with George Bush and John Rocker..they're rich and don't need to be in college...they prolly parked in a handicapped space too.

From Jason Whitlock,

An interesting sentiment but I think I would rather have those two racists as far from my defense as possible. Not to worry though, Sharpton and Jackson wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole because they can't get rich defending the rights of white men. There is no chance for them to profit from turning this into a spectacle so you won't be hearing any calls for justice from the Rainbow Coalition.
Big Sexy speaks the truth.
I've said this before, but it's worth saying again: Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton should be in Durham, N.C., today, promising civil disobedience until the charges are dropped and prosecutor Mike Nifong resigns.

It is in the best interest of all black people, especially poor black people, that black people with a voice and a platform call for an end to the persecution of the Duke lacrosse players and program.
Speaking out in support of the wealthy Duke players enhances our credibility when we claim that someone poor and black is being treated unfairly. Poor people need that credibility because they can't afford to make bail, let alone a team of high-priced attorneys.
By remaining silent about this obvious miscarriage of justice, black leadership looks as racist and cowardly as it paints white people who ignore obvious mistreatment of blacks.
Big Sexy speaks the truth.
