Was there any talk at the meeting about Seattle University possibly starting up a club? It seems to me they're a perfect candidate for a competitive USLIA lax team, it being a small private university, great facilities, incredible High School lacrosse in the area, etc... Anyone have any info?

No word at the meeting, but we're all aware of there situation. They've been trying for the last few years. I'm sure we'll all be excited to take a look at them when they're ready to play.

Seattle University will not be starting a team anytime soon. The previous interest was from an incoming freshman at SU two years ago. He failed to attract more than 7 or 8 other interested players, and found the school had no field to practice or to host games on. The lack of facilities was one of the biggest road-blocks, and proved almost insurmountable.

I hope that Seattle U can generate some more interest in launching a team...I worked just down the street from their campus this summer and saw two lacrosse goals chained up to the fence. Perhaps with the rise of the number of high school programs in the Seattle area will follow with an increased interest in starting a team.

There has been some recent interest at SU. Obviously any team that enters the PNCLL must be aware of the commitment involved. It is not just a question of having student interest , the financial obligations for a team that plays in one of the MCLA conferences is significant. SU have been informed of what is necessary for them to make a proposal to play in the PNCLL so I am sure they are working on it.

Peter - SU has a womens lax team that started in 2006. You probably saw their goals. SU attracts students from around the country and Asia, so it's a little different than WWU or UW which attract mainly kids from the local Puget Sound high school leagues.

I wish the men well and hope they can buid the critical mass to participate in the PNCLL soon.
