Right you are Mark. I guess since there's no ESPNinsider coverage of the LSA, I have to rely on last season's results. Either that or the barrage of rumors and heresay that seem to float around ever so prevalently.
... and murphlaxtx ... yeah, its really just a novelty thing. I guess the poll can be used as an FYI, if nothing else.

i think that they figured UNT wouldn't even notice being dropped in the polls because they would already be preoccupied with their annual "some random guy on our team is getting robbed of the league mvp award because he dropped 18 goals on Hockaday's JV team" campaign.

Who are you again? Oh thats right, you're scared to say. Why don't you tell us so we can compare our "some random guy" to your stats.

Hockaday
UNT has never played Hockaday's JV team.
And if you visit our team website you will find that no one on UNT has every scored 18 goals in a game, nor has anyone indicated that a UNT player has ever scored 18 goals in a game before the Flock's inane post.
What you will find is that UNT has been fortunate over the last several years to have players have great years and thus get their names into discussion for such things as league MVP.
Only once in league history has a UNT player won the MVP award which also coincided with UNT's first ever trip to the playoffs.
Perhaps, the voters got it right.

wow.... the levels of touchiness on this board have reached an all-time high... let's not be ridiculous. my american heritage dictionary defines 'hyperbole' as 'an exaggeration or extravagant statement used as a figure of speech', examples include 'i could eat a horse', 'i could sleep for days', or 'some random guy scoring 18 against hockaday's jv team'. rest assured, i wasnt literally accusing yall of playing a highschool girls junior varsity team.... MY NAME is Evan Carter and I played at SMU from 00-04. Go get in your stat book and tell me how many career goals you scored against me, whatever. if i have to include a resume at the end of every post just so that i dont get accused of hiding from people, then so be it. i just checked out the message board today and saw that someone from UNT pointed out that my alma mater had a tendency to choke. this, unfortunately, is an earned reputation. now, instead of getting my panties in a bunch, i thought to myself that this was simply an opportunity to engage in some friendly banter with some old college rivals, fight fire with fire, if you will. so you made a joke about smu lacrosse's reputation, i made a joke about yours. end of story.
what is it that they say about people living in glass houses????

Those alumni
Yeah,
Alumni are tough to control. I can't seem to keep them away from our practices this year.
If you think pads stink on current players, try a guy whose equipment has been in the gym bag in the corner of his apartment for an additional five months without being opened. I had to pour clorox bleach on an alumni yesterday to try to kill off the raging bacteria infection that he was about to give to the rest of the team.

Also note that the stance of FlockofSeagulls does not count because he was never good at lacrosse.

would this be considered hyperbole/friendly banter or trash talk between former rivals?
and havent some UNT players (current or former) led campaigns in the past to get their teammates noticed for league awards?
peace.

Not even trash talking
RD1 is not trash talking or engaging in friendly banter, he is just waiting to get censured and edited.

not looking for TX State to do much catching up this season. they'll probably regress, simply because of coaching (backstab).
hahhahah, thanks for the vote of confidence buddy. The powerful lacrosse community in San Marcos is are already pressuring me to win a National Championship in my first two years with the Bobcats! I thought Mack Brown had it bad (sarcasm)
