They picked the team for their trip to NYC. Looks impressive.

Any other teams post their rosters yet?

Returning players include 2 first team AAs and a 2nd team AA...

This should be a very fun team to watch. There are a couple of players not on the roster who will be major contributors in the spring.

The roster is not complete yet - more additions later today. Additionally, there are 8 (including Justin and JT who is practicing with the team before entering the MTC ) USLacrosse HS All-Americans and 1 USLacrosse Academic AA on the roster.

Out of curriosity

For those of you that are BYU alums or close friends of the program, do you see a drop in the level of play of Returned Missionaries? 1280 the zone debated this regarding the football team and I was just wondering if serving a mission interupts a players career. It seems to me that players come in as freshmen at virtually the peak of their game and usually in amazing athletic condition, and then they are asked to take 2 years off and then come back and compete at the same level. What are the pros and cons, are there any athletes willing to discuss?

And just so we are clear I'm not trying to take anything away from serving a mission. I'm a big believer that serving a mission does more to help a person mature then it does hurt them.

Check out this thread from the past. A lot of the alumni chimed in here with their thoughts on missions.

Dan-O

I thought I was better when I came back. After playing for a couple of months, I was probably bigger and in better shape than before I left. Of course I didn't go to a foreign country though and ate well the whole time

BYUAlum, thanks for the link a lot of really interesting points in that thread.

James, as RM's go you will always be my personal favorite. Having lived in Utah for almost 6 years now, I have had the pleasure and honor to coach a handful of RM's. No RM that I know has ever come back with the drive and tenacity that you showed. But you already know how I feel about your work ethic.

Todd, my coaching career now takes me to the High School ranks to try and rebuild Skyline High School's program. James Brand obviously couldn't do it so I thought I would try and help out.

I'm curious why Chucky Powers is listed as a sophomore? He played in 5 games last year before hurting his knee. How does that qualify for a redshirt year??
Always on point . . .

Powers redshirt status was approved by the MCLA Board at the summer Dallas meetings based on the information presented; Cam Archibald's was not approved.
