Hadn't seen this posted anywhere yet...rumor is UVA will wear these in the Final 4 (assuming they reach the Final 4).

Those look even more painfully exposed in the back than my favorite cascades. I might have to switch

Wow, what is it with lacrosse manufacturers. Someone sitting in a room decided to mix and match a cascade helmet with a brine helmet. Absolutely nothing new.

Sometimes I wonder how Riddell would have done if they had made a lighter helmet more accustomed to a regular football helmet, not the Revolution or Peyton Manning Helmet. I think it would have looked better than just a Cascade knock-off with Riddell padding on the inside.

But seriously, I wonder if Identity or Riddell pay cascade some sort of licensing fee for similarities in the appearance of the C-Pro/CPX's. Oh well, much better than the Gait helmets.

The Identity is actually a Gait helmet. I saw the designs for it last September. The flap on the side hides the screws that now stand out on the sides. The screw looking thing on the back actually lets you personalize the tightness on the sides of the helmet.

It was supposed to come out in January, nice to see it will finally hit the market.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I've now begun the new gear page on LaxShopper.com with this new helmet. If you've got other leads (pictures), I'd welcome your help.

They look better than the gait field but still ugly. I need to see one in real life before i make a judgement on these.

Does anyone remember about 15 years ago, or more, there was a football style helmet made for lacrosse. It literally looked like a football helmet with the facemask swapped out with a lacrosse facemask. I dont know if Riddell made them or what. I never saw anyone wear one, but I was thinking about those the other day and couldnt find a picture or anything about them.

My very first helmet was a Riddell and it looked like a batting helmet with a facemast on the front. That would have been around the time period you are talking about (all pictures of me in said helmet have been destroyed).

yeah that was it. Those helmets were horrible. Too bad about the pictures though, would be nice to see one of those again.

Are any club teams actually wearing the Identity this season? It seems as though they are pushing the new helmets in the catalogs and offering diferent mask styles. Competitively priced too...

There's a new Cascade helmet being released for this season as well. Thread can be found here:

Identity size

Postby bozlax on Wed Mar 21, 2007 1:52 pm

Has anybody actually tried one of these on? The listings all say, "one size fits all," but as a guy with a 7 3/4 (24.5") melon, I know that's not usually really true.

The only helmets I've been able to find since the old-school SportHelmet laces-up-the-medulla jobs that fit me are the Brine Triad XP (out of production, out of stock, out of mind) and a Stryke custom-fit XXL (they bent out the face mask to make the shell fit me, prior to the "merger" with Warrior). I'm still wearing the Stryke, but it's almost 4 years old and I'm looking for the next one.
