I knew this writer. He was an outgoing intern at a business before I joined.

And as a fellow jounalist (now corporate communicator), he missed the ball on this story. The story focuses on Midwesterners "using" lacrosse to get into college, which a minimal amount of research and reporting would show is not feasibly reasonable or even possible.
