He was referring to St Mary's lack of penalties as opposed to Claremont's inability to stay out of the box.

regardless of the perceived bias of the officials or the well disciplined/coached Gaels, it was an exciting lacrosse game. St Mary's showed great composure coming back late in the game, but when it came down to crunch time claremont got it done. Any B division victory over an A opponent is an acomplishment, regardless of how it was done.

The USC Trojans visited the #18 UCSD Tritons today in their second game of a two day San Diego road trip. A potent UCSD offense lead by attackman Nick Dean came out firing on all cylinders and ran up a quick 6-1 lead after the first quarter of play. Battling through a slew of injuries, the Trojans fought back hard in the second quarter and outscored the Tritons 5-1 to go into halftime trailing by a single goal, 6-7. The thriller of a game continued in the third as USC was hit with several penalties in a row for several minutes, at one point being down 3 men and playing 3 defensemen against 6 UCSD offensive players. USC's defense played miraculously and somehow despite being outnumbered by players 2:1, they didn't give up a single goal througout this penalty period. USC remained within 2 to 3 goals of UCSD in the third, but eventually let in a couple more in the fourth to reach the final score of 9-14. Hats off to UCSD for an impressive performance on both sides of the field, they are definitely worthy of their ranking.

I have tried not to enter into any discussions on this board but it is impossible with all the BS being released upon this forum.

!st order of business: The lax

It has become very evident that you have not seen any of the WCLL teams this year that you speak so ignorantly of. SB, Sonoma, and Arizona have all proven themselves to be elite teams year in and year out. It doesn't matter which conference is better it matters who wins. This year: WCLL to 5 vs. RMLC top 5 1-0. Fact. Cal Poly has new uniforms, thank god, and lacks much of its leadership from years past, when they beat Colorado in ST Louis(2003), but looks to be competitive along with UCSD, who may have the best player in the country this year in Nick Dean.

2nd Order
The refs in the WCLL this year don't seem to be as experienced as in the years past. Lot's of new faces and lots of whistle blowing. But beggers can't be chosers and they're doing the best they can. However,
SOmething needs to be done about #3 from St Mary's. I have much respect for the team and have friends who play for them. But Burns thumbs the ball constantly during the course of a game. one of the refs had to warm him about it, although I thought an infraction of that gravity would warrant an immediate penalty. It was blatant and obvious to all who watched. He is a great player. Fact. But the refs are letting this go and it is a joke to not call it.


3rd Order
Messina (great D) is the most underrated player in the conference, along with Alderman(double digit gb's a game) and BJ from Sonoma #5. It is disgusting to see players from one team near the bay make 1st team every year when they can't hang with an honerable mention player. Guess it helps to be on the executive board. it is rediculous when there are better players on their own team.
