I got to go up there next week for work. Maybe Oingo Boingo will be playing at the Brit. Nothing like the threat of a zombie dance party breaking out while lawn bowling.

I was out downtown with a couple friends that night and saw those idiots when they were on a side street walking away... The mug shots that were on TV didn't do justice to the rest of the costumes they were wearing.

To MN's defense, I've never seen anything like that before, so I don't think it's common. Thankfully.

They thought these douchebags were carrying weapons of mass destruction? Maybe I missed the memo about Al Qaeda going goth.

Then again, given the choice, I might prefer snorting lines of weaponized anthrax to listening to Bauhaus and Morrissey while some fat girl in cornstarch make-up and fishnets explains how depressed she is.

These crackers look as though they were trying to re-enact the border crossing scene in Gotcha. If I see them next week, I might have re-enact a little something I like to call Shaun of the Dead! To the Winchester!

Landon Donovan's poor World Cup performance must have impacted him worse than we thought. I know. It's a pretty big reach.

Per the American Heritage on-line dictionary: "cracker"

NOUN:

1. A thin crisp wafer or biscuit, usually made of unsweetened dough.

2. One that cracks, especially:
1. A firecracker.
2. A small cardboard cylinder covered with decorative paper that holds candy or a party favor and pops when a paper strip is pulled at one or both ends and torn.
3. The apparatus used in the cracking of petroleum.
4. One who makes unauthorized use of a computer, especially to tamper with data or programs.

3. Offensive
1. Used as a disparaging term for a poor white person of the rural, especially southeast United States.
2. Used as a disparaging term for a white person.

Just curious--what term would you use to describe these people if they weren't white?

Oh please. Do not even try to equate the term "cracker" with terms that are used for other groups. Shame on you.

Not trying to thread hijack but that is a great movie. No matter how many times I have seen it, I always end up watching it again when it is on HBO 4 at 2 AM.

Resume conversation over the term "cracker".

I'll use a Louis CK quote, modified slightly to fit the rules of the forum, to supply a point of view of derogatory terms for caucasians.
"I love that term white trash, because its the only racial expression you can use and nobody gets offended. When you say white trash, nobody goes, 'Hey, don't talk like that about them, thats not nice.' Nobody defends white trash. You could be talking to the most liberal hippie in the world you go, 'Hey, I saw this guy he was white trash' he'll go, 'Haha! Screw that guy! White trash loser.' "

The Donovan comment is fantastic! Saw him play with LA versus KC a month ago. He scored two goal and the Wiz fans (all two of them other than us) taunted him with chants of "Where was that in Germany!"

Equation would be ludicrous, but is it not derogatory?

I guess this is a silly tangent to debate
