Yahoo!'s Buzz Log- Which romantic place to go to?

Postby Brent Burns on Fri Jul 07, 2006 9:53 am

Just read the buzz log from Yahoo! about which romantic places you can go to:

1) Olive Garden

2) Applebee's

3) Outback Steakhouse

4) Chili's

5) T.G.I. Friday

Is there anything about this list that surprises you?

EDIT Actually, the list above is the most searched-on restaurants when people were checking out the chain restaurants on the Internet.

Anyone have ever heard of or have gone to Rib Crib?

I'd be single if I took my girlfriend to any of those "romantic" places...what, was Fudruckers not an option?

Concur with Mr. Buck!

I'd be divorced if I took my wife to one of those places on one of the few nights we can find someone to baby sit our children.

mrs. gilner only gets 2 romantic (absurdly expensive) dinners each year - on her birthday and on our anniversary. i think that i am getting off pretty easy. the last time i suggested applebees (as a joke), it wasn't appreciated.

I agree with you guys (ahem, y'all) that I would not dare take my wife to those places since our 20th anniversary is coming up soon. Nevertheless, my wife and I have gone to those places on other occasions, but not for a romantic dinner.

Yeah Brent we got a Rib Crib in Lubbock. Pretty good BBQ place. And even better in Houston (Tomball) there is a place called the Rib Tickler....which is excellent BBQ.

Speaking of Rib Tickler, Rib Tickler

Of course, you can not only depend on the reviews as you would need to check it out yourself. The www.b4-u-eat.com is actually a guide to restaurants in the Houston area.

Rib Crib is almost completed, so that is why I asked because we will have that in Woodway, a stone's throw from Waco.

There's not a romantic thing about any of those restaurants. I took my girlfriend on our first date to Applebees, and quickly learned that is not the best place to take her for any reason.

I'll have those around the Cities know that her 'favorite' restaurant isn't much better... Billy's on Grand. Not too much of a difference between the two.

Just got through our 23rd year also. After that much time and two teenagers romance has nothing to do with it. Just happy to get out of the house (even coneys at the Gopher Bar would do).

Former VP Candidate John Edwards must have been a damn good lawyer/politician. He used to take his wife to Wendy's for their anniversary. I think that was their first date, but still I am impressed.
