A hypothetical for you. If Germany had advanced to Sunday's WC Final would the French have surrendered before the game or waited until halftime?

hypothetically? I believe that the Germans would've carried the ball towards the Maginot Line Defence and the French would've stepped aside one at a time and all taken dives to end the game 2 minutes in.

LOL, word on the street is they already had white flags ready at Versailles.

Has anyone noticed that all the Italian players look like Calvin Klein underwear models? Anyone? anyone?

LOL A friend of mine at work had a picture from the web of them doing just that--in your choice of darks or white!!! Sure made our day!

Grosso is anything but Grosso in that context.

Lukas Podolski of Germany (a.k.a. Prinz Poldi) was selected by the FIFA Technical Study Group to win FIFA's first-ever Gillette Best Young Player award.

Zidane is a fruit.

Soo tired he can't even stand up or go to the sideline between the ot periods but sucks up enough energy for a serious cheap shot.

Although the other wuss dropped like a rock and made it look worse than it was.

A fruit? I don't know about that. That was savage, albeit untimely. Now France does not have its 3 best players for the shootout. However it turns out, France dominated this game.

What a crock, Zidane blatently head butts a guy and everyone feels sorry for him, Rooney accidently steps on a guy and everyone calls him a thug.

1) Zidane was an idiot.

2) I don't think Rooney "accidently" stepped on that guy. He looked like he was under control and knew where his foot was going.

Well, let's examine Rooney and Zidane.

Rooney: In his first World Cup he crapped the bed, kicked a player in the groin and pushed another.

Zidane: 3-time World Player of the Year, perhaps the best passer of all time, one of the best free kickers of all time, and one of the best dribblers of all time. Despite that, he will be remembered for the headbutt. That is why people feel bad for him.

I can't believe I had to spell that out for you.

If Rooney goes on to have an illustrious career, people will forget what he did in 2006. The same cannot be said for Zidane.

It would be interesting what Zidane and Materazzi had said to each other, and something that Materazzi may have set off Zizou. However, what Zidane did was a deplorable thing that really hurt his team, for he would have known that the penalty shootout was coming up soon.

Zidane would have thought about preserving his legacy since it would be his last game, and he would have gone out with a win or a loss. He has a very impressive resume.

However, we have to recall that Zidane had been suspended a few times in his career, and I am really disappointed in his not so heady decision.

Everyone see Slick Willie at the Final? I of course had to make the obligatory "The brothels must have closed during this match" comment.
