Lindenwood 9
Duluth 8
Thanks to Coach Graff and the Bulldogs for coming down to the Invitational.
Special recognition on the Lion's side goes to Attackman Grant Kelam with 3 goals and hard work on GBs. Attackman Justin Combs had two goals and four assists. Defenseman Mike Sullivan played outstanding defense today. Goalie Jack Cribbin came into the game in relief of starter Tim Jennings at a critical time in the game and came up two big saves.
Duluth goalie Ryan Schoenecker came up big several times for the Bulldogs. Special recognition should also be given to Defenseman Derek Daehn, and Face-Off Midfielder Dan O'Donnell.

I'm sure he will post the details later.
Congrats to Harding on the OOC victory.
Box Score:
Harding 3 7 3 0
UTA 2 3 3 0
Hard fought game by both teams, especially in the second half.

lindenwood is on a tear, still undefeated. lu played much better than last night.
tomorrow against miami of ohio should be good.
By the way Macklax the GRLC has been undergoing a major renovation and is getting back on its feet. I take offence to you calling it a breeze.
Don't do it again.
Relax pal. Mizzou disposed of the GRLC pretty easily last year but had its hands full with other tournament teams in St. Louis. To them in 2004, the GRLC was "a breeze". No one came within three goals of them in the league, and most victory margins were much wider than that. Look at the results from last year and there was no contest, aside from a hint of challenge from Illinois.
As for this season and beyond, who knows what the conference will bring. Seems to be on its way up, and Lindenwood seems to be pretty strong. I would say they are the favorite definitely this year based on early signs over UMD and Illinois. But the GRLC schedule will probably be a breeze for Lindenwood aside from Illinois and perhaps Mizzou if they can rebound. Lindenwood looks pretty impressive right now. I am intrigued at how they are treated like varsity by their school and like to follow their rise. They have a beautiful stadium and talented team, and this is very good for the conference so congratulations to them.
I'm making simple statements based on clear results about the ease in which the GRLC champ went to St. Louis last year, I never said the conference was crap. The fact that I visit this forum shows that I have interest in the GRLC and obviously in its teams. Thanks for putting my handle in boldface though, I appreciate the recognition.

In Lincoln, NE today:
Game 1: USD 8 Nebraska 6
Game 2: USD 6 North Dakota St. 2
I tried to make a box score type thing, but it didn't turn out right when I submitted this the first time. If anyone's actually interested in the scores by quarters, let me know.

Looks like its official now....some people still had their doubts about Lindenwood after their first 2 games, since they were against 2 "B" teams (even though they did roll over both) but now there can be no doubt that they are the heavy favorites to win it all. Maybe the GRLC can actually make some noise in the tournament this year, which has not been done in a while.
Nice win over #12 Duluth.
Any predictions on where they SHOULD stand in the polls now?

I just found that a little funny since the GRLC is only in its third year and the phrase "a while" was used. Sorry Beckner, just found it funny.
Lindenwood should be ranked obiviously now into the Top 25. They probably will be ranked in the 17-23 range in the next poll although I think they should be in the 10-15 range if they finish the season winning out the GRLC and winning all to most of their OOC games left.
Hopefully they do make some noise in the Tourney if they do go. OR any GRLC team for that matter, whoever the champion is........would be a step up for the GRLC.
But with a lot of lacrosse left, the GRLC is far from over.

Absent any bad losses before the next poll comes out, Lindenwood will make the next poll. Probably somewhere in the 19-25 range. For the last couple of years, UMD has been very overrated at the beginning of the season. They didn't deserve the #12 status, in my opinion. The big problem for Lindenwood is they don't play anyone in the Top Ten so [1] there is no good point of reference for the voters and [2] there will be a big question hanging over them all season if they will be ready for what they may possibly face in the tourney, if they make it (see Missouri 2004, Auburn 2002, etc.). I just don't see how they get into the Top Ten without playing and/or beating any of those teams.

MackLax i always try to give credit where credit is due, always
I just take quick offense to any negative comments towards somthing i put so much time into.
As far as Lindenwood is concerned... Yes they are very very good, but there is alot of season left and what really counts is playoffs. 1 bad day during the finals can end the season. But i don't think that will happen. Today they played an excellent game that was up to thier standard. But they now have a target on thier back and more conferance games ahead. Hi Kyle!
LU also has many up and coming freshmen some of whom have already started carving niches for themselves. Look for them to be a threat for years to come.

beckner, if lindenwood beats miami tomorrow, i would rank them #13 or 14. i am biased so i assume the poll voters would have them a little lower, around 17-20.

Keep in mind all the coaches from each team at the Lindenwood invitational are voters for the poll. That could make a difference since they are seeing first hand what LU is about.
