Does anyone care about the NBA anymore?

i don't care for baseball. two teams will get together for a 3-game series:
team A wins 5-4 the first game,
team b wins 13-3 the next game,
team A wins 6-2 the next game.
neither team cares because they will see that team 15-20 more times this season.

The 'world champion' ends up with 60 (sometimes more) losses every season. Lame.

college football, nfl, college hoops for me. NBA is a distant fourth.

For me, its College Football, NFL, and College Basketball in March. NHL, Golf and MLB are all ahead of the NBA. I can't stand watching it, especially in the last 2:00 of regulation, which last 15. Nothing is more irritating.

And of course college lacrosse, but that should go without saying.

Well, Alonzo Mourning and Gary Payton finally have a championship. Hooray for them, I guess. Now, it's back to not caring about basketball of any kind until February/March of next year.

Ha, well my dad played golf for Vanderbilt and got me started on the game about the time I could start to walk. I'll even admit I have some trading cards with the likes of Curtis Strange and other players from 15 or so years ago thrown into my extensive baseball card collection.

I don't actually get the Golf Channel as I'm not at a salaried job yet :).

Wow! Golf trading cards? That Tops and Fleer will do anything for a buck. Did they come in a foil pack?

NBA basketball is still week and NCAA basketball is only good in March.

Did you get a piece of stale gum with that package?

Ugh, Gary Payton couldn't guard me at this point, unless the refs allowed him to grab my jersey as I rounded a pick to take the final shot of the game. As for 'Zo, he was my first favorite college bball player (I was a little young for Len Bias) and I know he's been through a lot but let's not forget what he did to the Nets and the Raptors. Zo is just another spoiled athlete who refused to live up to the contract that he signed with two different teams and then whined and cried until he got moved to the Heat. And now I have to listen to all the Heat fans down here who are still recovering from their leaps off of the Marlins bandwagon.

As the Sports Guy would say, "The NBA, I love this game!"

Fans in Florida are all the same, look at Tampa. Bucs win the Superbowl, you couldnt hear enough about em, they have two losing seasons after and there aint a fan in sight, then they get Cadillac and people are starting to come out of the woodwork. I wont even touch Lightning fans, if there was ever a team that didnt deserve to win a championship because of their fans it was them. Yeah they sold out every game for the finals, but the Flames were partying every night during the playoffs after a win, they turned Calgary into the Canadian New Orleans.

I wouldn't lump all Florida fans into that group. The Miami Dolphins have a hard core group of loyal fans, both in South Florida and around the country - due to their long-term success over the last 40 years.

mourning - awesome performance, but as stryker referenced most people think about his health problems rather than what he did to toronto

GP - great moment the the 4th (?) quarter where the pass bounced off his leg because he was bitching at the ref.

Last night sucked as a die-hard Mavs fan but you aren't going to win many games relying on outside shooting and commiting too many turnovers.

But this was the best and most enjoyable season as a Mavs fan.
