For example, Trinidad and Tobago call themselves The Soca Warriors, France is known as Les Bleus (today, they are having the blues), Japan as Boys in Blues.

That could suck.

Yep, we are now at the 76th minute, and we better miraculously score 3 goals. After the game, I would not be surprised that Bruce Arena will not mince words in the locker room.

Too bad the US team didnt have the Australian team playing for them!! LOL

Unfortunately for the Americans, the Italians have looked the best so far.

What are you insinuating? The Socceroos were just playing possum. At least Australia has won a WC game in Europe. Go the Green & Gold!

Wow is all I can I say. Spain played a SUPERB game against a solid Ukraine (the first european team to qualify in a tough, tough group). As of yet, Spain looks better than any other team that has played. I think this is the year were Spain proves all those nay sayers wrong (unless something like what happened against South Korea, happens again which probably won't as the refs look a lot better this world cup)... What a great game!

And what about that Puyol? Best play of the game out of many good plays.

Just finished watching the Saudi Arabia v Tunisia game and I have to say that the last 15 minutes were superb. Possibly because they both arent good teams, but there were some good passes and good goals that ended with a deserved 2-2 tie for both teams.

I liked the Saudi's plan for substitution of strikers, and was amazed that the 2nd sub, the "best soccer player Saudi Arabia has put out", scored on his 2nd touch of the ball. The lookaway shot was awesome.

I think its interesting how reminiscent soccer's defense is of a slide package.

At this time of writing, just got a sneak peek at Yahoo!'s FIFA World Cup live data, Germany and Poland are tied at 0-0 at the 40th minute. Both are even in shots at the goal (4 shots each team).

Halftime, 0-0. Germany had a great chance in injury time but didn't capitalize

Germany vs. Poland

Postby Brent Burns on Wed Jun 14, 2006 3:25 pm

Both are still tied at 0-0 in the 68th minute, and so far in the second half, Germany has possession of the ball for 54% whereas Poland has 46%. The Germans made 3 shots and Poland just one shot. Soon, one of them would start attacking and pushing up the ball harder in hopes to create a goal.
