It was a good game
It was a great game! Watson looked good and the team played great. There are two more home games coaming up, I think they can win them both after the showing the Cannons and the Machine have had!

Looks like the Riptide are doing pretty well in the TV Ratings department.

It's great to see that pro lacrosse has found a foothold in California. The sport's popularity and the level of play out west is growing by leaps and bounds. However, it is disheartening to see that 0 lacrosse players from the west coast are on the LA team, and few if any on the SF team. Having played against many of the players on their rosters I can say with a great degree of certainty that there are some players that did register for the draft and try out that were cut or were not even offered the chance to compete. I would like to hear people's opinions on the matter.
Food for thought: Marin had 13 players drafted to the MLL, Marin lost to Dub C 11-5 in Tahoe last summer. Surely there is one player that was good enough to play at the next level.

Mike Abou-Jaoude from St. Ignatius in SF and captain of the Bucknell team was drafted by the SF Dragons in the last draft.

I agree, the level on the west coast has come to a point to where the best players out here can compete at the highest level of lacrosse. The problem is depth, but that shouldn't effect an individuals ability to excel at the top. There is an obvious bias. It is beginning to become apparent that previous opinions of who could be successul at the pro levels were not always correct. I think we will continue to be suprised by some players and begin to see a positive trend for west coast players.

I don't remember how much he's played in the games, but #8, Brian Kelly, plays for the riptide and played his college ball at nearby Whittier College. So there's one player from the West Coast at least.
