That's how england won their game today, an own goal by Paraguay. Sweden drew with Trinidad and Tobago as well, in a surprising result. T&T's goalie played amazing, making some crucical saves in the second half as they played a man down for most of the half.

Was it a 10-minute unreleasable for illegal ball? :D

Speaking of an own goal, the last time it happened at the US-Colombia game in the early stages of the World Cup when a Colombian defender scored an own goal which gave the US a win. Unfortunately for that player, he was killed once he got home in Colombia. Let's hope the fans in Paraguay do not react the same like their Colombian counterparts did.

Argentina defeated Ivory Coast, 2-1. That concludes three games today. Three games tomorrow. Our own US will kick off against Czech Republic Monday.

Two final scores for today's 3 games:

Mexico 3 Iran 1

The Oranje (Netherlands) 1 Serbia & Montegero 0

There is a game between Angola and Portugal now.

Wasn't T&T's goalie second string? He played out of his mind. I loved seeing how excited T&T and their fans were for a draw, and the shot of the Sweden fan with his head in his hands at the end was priceless.

I actually went to a English pub out here at 6 am with some friends and watched this game with about 30 Dutch fans decked out in the orange. Pretty cool atmosphere.

jessexy would have loved the Australia-Japan game (a.k.a. socceroos verus Blue Samurai). Just learned those names from those commentators from Yahoo and Google, the Blue Samurai were leading the socceroos, 1-0 for 81 minutes. All of a sudden, the Aussies (Cahill) scored at the 83rd minute and again at the 88th minute. His mate, Alesoi scored the third goal at the 92nd minute. One commentator called it an enthralling game.

I have the yahoo game between US and Czech Republic minimized now.

Wow... All i have to say is that the US are doing an absolutely terrible job of quelling all the doubt about their new team! They better pick it up if they hope to at least tie with the Czech's...

Yep, we are now at the 76th minute, and we better miraculously score 3 goals. After the game, I would not be surprised that Bruce Arena will not mince words in the locker room.

Ya know, if lacrosse players faked getting hurt as much as soccer players we would have to stop play after every slap check or any body contact.

The game is over as the Czechs blanketed US, 3-0 on Rocizky's two goals. The last time we lost to the Czechs was 1-5.

Very disappointing effort today for the Yanks. I didn't expect to win outright, but to lose 3 nil is a joke.

We pretty much have to win our remaining two games to have a chance to advance.
