The disco ball spinning as we disco down to the inferno!
Wait, that reference brings up "Disco Inferno" Burn, Baby, Burn.

What is scary about disco? I used to go roller skating (yes i said roller skating) at the local roller rink on Saturday nights for disco night every week. That was a good time.

Actually Cathy, the disco era was a time of terrific confluence for me.
If I may reminisce...I was an East Coast kid transferred to a small city in the midwest - I had been west of the Hudson once! Single, and knew no one in town. I did find a great apartment complex though.
Not a real pickup machine in the bars, and never danced. A neighbor girl was invited to a big birthday bash, with people coming from NY and LA for the event. She asked me to go with her, with one stipulation - we had to learn to disco. With some trepidation on my part, we took some lessons at the local Arthur Murray dance studio. (Yes, it is as freakish as it sounds!)
Did learn some good disco moves though, and had a great time at the party. Friday nights were usually spent a local hot spot, and I also had learned the most valuable lesson - girls LOVE to dance! Spent the entire nights on the floor, my dance card was full, and life was good for a young single guy!
Met my wife a few months later, swept her off her feet as well, and 26 years later still happily married with 4 wonderful kids. I owe it all to disco!

Maybe I'd listen to "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia".

Does anyone remember Will Farrell lifting weights as Janet Reno to that song back in the day? Ahhh those were the days...
