Can anyone find a link to a story about this? I can't find anything on ESPN.com or through news searches on Yahoo or Google.

Unnamed high-ranking government sources report that FSU is not going Division 1 for the 2007 season.

Quint Kessinech knows about as much about the FSU situation as A-Rod knows about winning the World Series, he's heard of it but really has no idea what he is talking about.

Here is a question that could apply to all USLIA teams, if a school starts a varsity program, won't there still be a need for a club team at the school? And if so, does a varsity program kill a USLIA club team?
Also, have any USLIA schools gone varsity?

The MDIA currently has a gentlemen's agreement with the Coaches Council to NOT admit any club teams on campuses with varsity programs.
I don't recall any MDIA schools going varsity. Who knows how the MDIA Council would proceed if that happpened.

Kessenich was commenting on the timeframe for Duke to make the call on next season. He remarked in an offhand manner that FSU was attempting to go Varsity. He did not give a timetable or even remotely expand on the thought.
I remember when VA Tech travelled to Auburn for the first time circa '88, comments abounded that they would be going Varsity in the near future. 'nuff said.

Not to be the "Word Nazi," but a lot of your posts would benefit greatly from a click of the spellcheck button. Not trying to be a jerk, just usually need to read them a couple of times before I get the gist.
Cheers.
