Serpent Lacrosse

Hello Everyone,
I usually wouldn't put out such a blatent plug for a new lacrosse company, but these guys seem to be headed in what I think is the right direction.

really inexpensive shafts. From what I hear they are working on D-poles, heads, and titanium shafts right now.

Syracuse had a few players using their shafts in the semis. Nate Kenney is the brother of one of the partners.

at first i thought you were gonna say it was the one in the virgina player's hand. I probably wouldnt buy one if it were.

Ahh, I remember when this guy in Detroit started up a new company, with one product - titanium shafts, which were unheard of 'til then. Supposedly his Dad had a connection in the metals business where he could get the stock and extrude it into shafts. They were so expensive it was hard to believe anybody would buy them - they cost more than a whole stick! His name - Dave Morrow. The company - Warrior.

I saw one "in real life". It's grippy (is that a word) and it doesn't weigh much. I'll be getting one also.

SErpent Shafts tentatively in the US next week. Then to be distributed.

I've purchased a couple of Maverick Shafts to compare/contrast.

Expect report midway through July to allow for sufficient use/abuse by #1 son and myself

Maverik makes a great product, but everyone needs to remember that they're geared for box ball. They aren't the lightest, but I love mine. It'll be hard to find a replacement besides my '93 Warrior Titanium, in my opinion, the best shaft ever made.

I just rec'd my Serpent SC-1 in the mail.
Initial impression of Serpent- very positive. 8 year old son has already told me that we are trading his unused Wonderboy to me for it....

1. Smooth enamel (sp?) type grip. Grippier than non-covered alloy. But gloves easily slide.

2. STURDY! This thing is a beast - no flexion at all. Not sure of the tensile strength (i.e. what force needed to snap it), but I"m assuming it's strong.

3. Cool white color.

4. Light. Wonderboy is infintesiamally lighter, but I mean just a tiny bit - I'd guess .1 oz at MOST. Serpent is much lighter than the Krypto pro's I have.

I'll follow up with a "play-based" review in a week. My son plans on using it in a few games.

I got mine also. It's the lightest shaft I own (my others are a brine titanium, and krpyolite).

I played a game with it, and the only adjustment I had to make was getting used to a significantly lighter shaft.

I'm not huge on looks, but it does look really sweet.

I e-mailed one of their people (Jake Kenney) who said they have plans to make a head and a long pole, but they expect to come out with some titanium short and long poles before those other products come out. They want to "make sure [they] get it right" on the new products. He said the titanium might be out by fall.
