All Star Game

Postby Dylan Dickey on Wed May 24, 2006 12:44 am

I've emailed all teams with All-Star directions and appreciate any type of corespondence from individuals regarding the matter.

If your team has not received an email please email me or private message me. mavlax at hotmail dot com

The umll.org site doesn't have all team's contact info. I'll follow up this weekend by making phone calls...just don't have time yet during reasonable hours.

mettallax1, I'll visit the UWSP site tomorrow to track down email addresses. times when regular school is not in session usually means students are less likely to check their school account. If possible, please supply me with their nonschool account (unless you know they check it religiously) and their mobile/home phone number.

Thank you all for your efforts.

Regards,
Dylan

I sent out another email regarding this. Thought I'd copy it here.
Just another email to get the reminder out there. I have spoken with or left a voicemail for only about 50% of the people on the A.C. list. I do not have everybody's email address or phone number. Please help by passing the All Star Game invitation and information on to your teammates and friends.

hit the nail on the head. i'll be sportin' the ol' whities.
i might as well wear a lace-up helmet too!

these are from back when shorts were short and jerseys were more like football jerseys.

The short shorts were from my freshman year! We take full account for the football white jerseys, but we had remedied the shorts problem by your freshman year!

Now that you make me think back.... I did wear a lace up helmet my first year.... that was only 7 years ago!

So, game is said and done. Any thoughts or suggestions for next year? In conversation with Matt Dempsey I suggested an earlier notification of date/time/location. That way if the AC list is used the players can be informed as soon as the list is released. He also said there are ideas out there about possibly having it earlier in the year, etc.

The North was short staffed. Thought Maubach was going to take it in and tally a long-pole goal for the North. Bice's fake to fake goal celebration to one hander goal was rediculous.

Final score...??? Was it 18 South, 7 North?

So he faked a shot, then faked a celebration to make the GK think he'd scored, and then he put the ball in?!

Gait did a lot of things that you don't usually see in the UMLL. :D

The MLA (Minnesota Lacrosse Association) will take a look at this year's event and hopefully make some decisions earlier and set up dates sooner.

I know the MCLC (Men's Post-College Teams) is holding its championship on the weekend of June 8, 9, 10 in the Twin Cities and the MLA has already been approached to see if we could work their championship game into the event.

That being said, there are lots of variables, not the least of which is that there was no boys' high school all-star game and next year it may be even tougher to organize one with two leagues (MSHSL and MBSLA) playing.

If anyone is interested in being involved early on, please let me know and I will make sure that you are included in the planning for next year.
