Lacrosse on NBC

Postby laxfan25 on Thu Feb 24, 2005 1:14 pm

I received this e-mail from US Lacrosse today;
"The 2005 NLL All Star game will be broadcast live on NBC this Saturday at 2:00 PM Eastern/ 11:00 AM Pacific.

Catch Casey Powell, Jay Jalbert, Ryan Boyle, Tom Marachek and the rest of the NLL All Stars in Gary Gait’s legendary final All Star game. Live from Calgary!"

Sonny had posted this on the NLL page, but this is pretty big news and I think most people look at the General Discussion on a visit. Check out the NLL discussion group as well.
Lets get lots of viewers on Saturday. It should be a great show with NBC's production equipment.

I'm going to miss at least the first half because of a scrimmage. I am furious.

Go Ryan Boyle.

If anyone watches the game take notice of how nasty John Grant is. I live in Rochester now and go to all the home games and the away ones are on TV. I've come to realize that he's head and shoulders above almost anyone else in the league, even the other star players. If you saw that NLL highlight on top ten plays about a month or so ago that was him throwing that pass off the boards. I mean I've just never seen anyone who is as innovative as this guy, plus he averages like 10 points a game (he had 9 goals last week in philly). I'm not saying this because I love the knighthawks (I dont care who wins, it's just nice to watch a good lacrosse game), but if you get a chance check it out. Oh yeah, pay attention to how often he goes righty, bout as much as me.

Going to high school in delaware does have one or two advantages... i got to see him play for UDel a few years ago. Even then, his stick skills were way above everyone else. Definitely just sat on the left attack wing all day though. I just remember one particular game against Carolina where Grant threw the same fake from the wing to up top twice on two different EMO plays. Both times the entire defense shifted to play the ball up top while it was still sitting in his pocket. He and about a quarter of the fans were the only people who knew he still had the ball.

Yeah, since I decided to move back up north all I have been doing is playing box for the past 4 months and guys rarely switch hands, They use behind the back stuff as thier off-hand, its pretty sweet. I'm starting to love box, but still, I miss the top right corner on a 6x6. Also, it appears to be the trend to coach girls lax after graduation, Oakley, myself, and I know of at least 3 others.
