If I was voting on a final poll for the season this is what it would be. Before any one starts to argue and begins tearing this post apart I am going to give my logic in selecting this way. I based my selectios only on the competitive rounds of the tournemant, i.e. if you lost in the first round you could be no higher than 9th. If you lost in the second round you could be no higher than 5th and no worse than 8th. I then ranked the lower teams, by their performances against the higher ranked teams that beat them. I also did not take into considerations the consulation games. One thing is for certain you come to Dallas for one reason- to be #1. Often times teams do not play with the same intensity in consolation games as the do in the regular tournament.
I would agree with you if you are only ranking the order of teams who appeared in Texas. However, the problem with your system is that you exclude teams who did not make it to Plano. Case in point: Utah beat #5, #6, #7 on your list, but does not make the top 16 because they did not make it to Plano (thanks to Michigan's loss to MSU in their playoffs, and AQ's for lower ranked teams.)
