Just got announced today. Take a look at the video before you pass judgement. First impressions for me: waste of time and money. But then I watched the video. Think about for the short shorts brigade (a.k.a. Cross country runners) could be useful. Guess it depends on the price point.
By the way the shoes are ugly.

It could potentially be a pretty cool idea. It would be better if it was a censor you could put into any shoe.

From what i could tell it is just a sensor, but the shoes they sell have an indention that the sensor fits in, see below:

I tried to warn you
Looking more at the site, which isn't completely done, I keep liking the idea more and more. The shoes are around $100 bucks which isn't bad for nike shox, the kit with the plug in for your iPod and sensor for the shoe is only $30, and thats really all you need. The "nike" cases and apparel do seem pretty nice and make it so you can access the buttons easily. On top of all this they are going to have different music on iTunes to help with your workouts for running faster or longer.

Saw an article in USA Today on the plane this morning - I don't have an iPod myself (3 of my 4 kids do though), and with the reasonable price point, I think this is going to be huge for both. All the audio feedbaack on your workout, being able to download and compete with remote friends, and I really liked the Power Song option that you could call up when you need that burst.
I'd be buying stock in both...
My only concern is having a censor in my shoe - every time I start swearing he's going to be bleeping me!

I saw the Nike Shoe being talked about on ESPN's Cold Pizza. It really does sound like a good idea.
That sandal is hilarious.

thos reef sandals are a terribel idea...you walk around in god knows what...then you put the sandal where you're going to be drinking from...i dunno, sounds a little weird to me...but the nike shoes? those are gonna be big....thats a great idea. Due to the fact that no one ever knows how far their running and like have to drive to figure it out.
