DI: i thought the seedings where really messed up. hofstra at 3 and cornell at 6(they should have been 2 and 4)?? notre dame as the 16 and denver as the 15 (i know there aer not numbers seeded past 8, and it's all based on travel restrictions, etc, but i still don't understand it). regardless, virginia seems to be leaps and bounds above everyone else this year. they'll most likely roll, even with ward having a broken hand.

DII: oh i want the lakers to do it!!! however, i don't think anyone will be able to take out the dolphins, even sans spillett

DIII: salisbury. hell, i might as well pencil them in for next year as well...

I created a bracket challenge for NCAA Division 1. Sorry, but the other divisional brackets would require significant coding modifications.

Thanks for all your hard bracketing work, Andy. Does Calvin have a school for bookies?

DI first-round games today:

Syracuse 11 Harvard 4
Hofstra 14 Providence 8

There was one game missing:

Georgetown 9 Navy 7

DI Quarterfinals for this weekend:

Virginia vs. Georgetown
Syracuse vs. JHU
Hofstra vs. UMass
Princeton vs. Maryland

DIII

Cortland vs. Middlebury
Wesleyan (Conn.) vs. Geneseo
Salisbury vs. Washington
Roanoke vs. Gettysburg

DII (those games will be played May 20 and 21)

LeMoyne vs. Limestone
Mercyhurst vs. Dowling

The DI Quarterfinals appear to be very exciting especially with Syracuse and JHU. I would not be surprised that the Hofstra and UMass game is going to be a very tight game. Obviously, UVa will not take Georgetown lightly. It is a toss-up between Princeton and Maryland.

I would start off with the discussions as I know y'all are getting home from your trip to the Nationals in Plano.

UVa- Georgetown (my pick: UVa)
Syracuse vs. JHU (my pick: Syracuse)
Hofstra vs. Massachusetts (my pick: Hofstra)
Princeton vs. Maryland (my pick: Princeton)

Let's talk and discuss your thoughts about who would win this weekend's quarterfinals.

I hope Brent is correct, because those are the teams that I want to see there.

Hofstra has the toughest matchup. UMass has been so close to the final 4 for so many years - and Hofstra's been so far from it for so many years.... I'll go with Hofstra's seniors.

Syracuse is meshing at the right time - I think they win by a few. JHU was over seeded...

UVA/G-town. GTown is one of the few teams to have the athletes to run with UVA. This is not a fun matchup for UVA. WHile this would be a huge upset, It would not surprise me if Gtown won. But I'm picking UVA to win.

MD/P-ton is a toss up. I'll go with P-ton because I want to see Cocoziello (Sp?) live at the final. And the more I think about it, that's probably not a bad choice- MD has problems scoring on normal D1 goalies/defensemen - and Princeton has the opposite - I think Hewitt's the best in D1 at goal, and P-ton's defense isn't that far off.

Anyone going to the games at SB? I'm headed to NYC for Fleet Week and hoping to get liberty on Saturday for a trip to see the games at Stony Brook.

I'm very suprised that Middlebury dropped.. They were my underdog favorite. I'm still saying Salisbury will take it all, though.

Me, too. However, I read that Cortland was in command throughout the game. Wesleyan from what I read from Rochester Democrat & Chronicle is a team of road warriors. When they defeated RIT two weeks ago, they went back to Conn to take their finals and then they were on their way back to the Rochester area to take on Geneseo State. Their bus broke down in Utica and was able to get on to their game. They won that game and are now back in Conn to complete their finals and will then take on Cortland this Sunday.

WOW. UMass eked out a win over Hofstra, 11-10. That must be a thrilling game for those who saw it on TV or in person at Stony Brook today.

Wonder when was the last time UMass got into the Final Four? Hofstra's winning 17 straight games ended although they tied that record with the 2005 Duke team. Hofstra's players should not bow their heads down.

Did anyone record the two games today? I had TIVO set up to record them on ESPN Syndication, but, they didn't come through on Charter.

Any help?

Or for us poor souls who don't have ESPNU/CSTV? I'd be happy to pay for the copy of the games and something for the trouble. PM me.
