Dang! I'm going to have to send this to my U of M roommate from the mid-eighties. I bet we could have qualified for this. Of course our freshman year we could have been disqualified for fighting like cats & dogs, but sophomore year was much better.

Why didn't they do this at Iowa?! My roommate and I got selected on our floor for freshmen year to show our room as it was always clean. (I am semi-neat but my roommate was a neat freak who even made MY bed from time to time.)

2 good stories while doing that.

1) I was completely hungover (the type of hungover where you think you are dead), and the tour came in and saw me.....half passed out on the bed, couldn't speak but could moan/mumble things. I am sure I made the parents happy as they saw a "good" example for their kids.

2) We learned when then next tour was, it was on a Friday and our RA just happened to take off early so some of the guys got the great idea to fill the bathtub with bubbles and two guys got in it. Put a boombox near the door with classical music and they put some thong on the door handle to the bathtub room. Hiliarous when the tour went by.

My buddies room got picked for the campus tour so they conjoined their bed to look like they had a queen that they slept together in. Everyone thought it was hilarious, except for the Administration, who demanded a judicial meeting and accused my friends of a hate crime towards homosexuals. It got a little out of hand but everything worked out in the long run, and their room will never be chosen again.
