Vail or Bust!!!

Postby OAKS on Tue May 16, 2006 2:24 pm

I'm determined to make it to Vail this year even if it kills me. Who is looking for a washed up middie who still thinks he's as good as he was in college? I can still hold my own after the games though :) Give me a p.m.

I know there is an elementary school in the area looking for good players! :D

Hey, one step at a time! You're shooting for the moon with that one.

Will, do what I did when I went out there...show up with a case/cooler of GOOD beer and claim that you're a middie already acclimated to the altitude...works like a charm.

Good Luck!

I got a friend of a friend who played at Denver and am hopefully getting on a team from the area, so we'll see. Still looking for any teams though... it would be fun to get on an MDIA based team.

Rock-it-pocket sponsors a team in Vail every year. Last year, some UCSB players joined the largely CSU contingent and some D1 players and finished 4th, their best result. I'd suggest contacting some of the CSU people as a start.

I think you will have an easier time cracking Ft. Knox...

Unfortunately, the team formerly known as QC Lax, Team Washington, and Northwest Nirvana will not be making an appearance this year. If we had, Will, you'd be with us.

What an awesome time though...Despite holding up 14th, 15th, or 16th place the past 4 years, we still had an awesome time and I will surely miss it this year...

Actually finished 3rd beating Team 21 (Cornell players/alumni) in the conoslation game.

[Insert discussion of whether or not RIP and Team 21 played hard/cleared the bench/took the game seriously due to its consolation nature]
