DAY 5 -- MDIA Championships - A & B Championship Day

The 2013 tournament returns to Greenville, SC this May.

The best should play the best. DII is constantly maligned for its playoff situation. There is no reason the MDIA should move in that direction. Would it have been better to watch CSU/Northeastern tonight? Probably not.
Always on point . . .

The best teams should play the best teams regardless of where they are at in the country!!

I wonder what the league will have to shell out for the goalposts?

to support an already made point: teams in the west will always enjoy a distinct advantage over their eastern counterparts, thus making any sort of "east/west" set-up impractical. eastern kids, if they're going to play serious ball, are going to go places where they don't have to buy their jerseys and plane tickets, not somewhere they have to hold car washes to fund field time. the western talent will find its way to CSU and the like but the eastern is so heavily concentrated in varsity programs that schools like northeastern will always have a difficult time matching sticks. just two little pennies from an east coast boy.

True that, I think the fact that the WCLL and RMLC continue to dominate club ball is due to those areas being under recruited over the past few years. There is no doubt that cali, colorado, utah and arizona are growing hotbeds for lacrosse and i think DI, DII and DIII coaches are beginning to realize this. This is an issue many club teams will have to deal with in the near future because they will be competing for top talent w/o being able to offer scholarships but than again club does have its "perks"(aka the ability to have a social life outside of lacrosse).

Both good points. Also, as varsity programs continue to recruit more and more from the west, I think we'll start to see the east coast MDIA teams climb the top 25 polls more and more each year.

usually in the neighborhood of $10G's. I doubt the league will cover it. I can't imagine that went over well with the facilities management staff.

A couple of us in the pressbox (including CSTV people) noticed that and all immediatlely said that wasn't going to be good for anyone. Goal Posts are such a touchy issue nowadays, but in Texas-you just don't do that. I think more people down here would be upset about the goal posts than let's say a broken stained glass window. No joke-here's hoping from the stadium staff noticed.

I do not doubt for a second that CSU will pay for replacement goal posts.
