Any early comments on how the set up is at the stadium?

Although RMLC teams in the final I feel that it is a great match up because CU and CSU are playing the best lax of the tournament right now. CU starts a trend with a new team winning it all, CU by 2 tonight.

kinda hard to get to nationals unless you win your conference and then if you don't you have to get an at large which always go to the west because of the rankings, which in my opinion are biased and slanted from the get go. And, I'll wait to see who gets selected for the 1st, 2nd, etc team for the league to see if the way I think proves my point. But, as my name implies, I'm just a member of the peanut gallery.

Yes, it is kind of hard to get to nationals... That's the point. Here's a tired cliché but, "if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best". Win your conference, or travel and beat some top ranked teams. Those are the only options, the alternative is a world where schools ban dodgeball and umpires don't keep track of the score in little league baseball.

Peanut, which teams from the west didn't belong in the tournament? Who would you have replaced them with?

Congrats to CSU. Nice little comeback after being down 2 with about 7 minutes left. Both goalies played real well, including a couple point blank type saves for both.

Decent sized crowd and the stadium was a real nice set-up for the Championship game.

I didn't say any team selected should not have been at the nationals. What I'm saying is, in order for the MDIA to grow, perhaps the next step would be to have two main leagues, one east and one west, with many conferences. You have the top eight teams from each league meet up for nationals and so on. I'm aware of all the reasons why the west is the west, etc. I just think the MDIA needs to grow, like many other sports have done. And just because someone lives east doesn't mean they should only go to the varsity schools. The NCAA is only so big and only stray from the hot bed lacrosse areas for recruiting with handfuls from either the west, midwest, and southeast. Most just want to play.

this would leave out some of the best teams in the nation, teams like Oregon and Poly, only to let less qualified teams come to the tournament

i understand your desire for an expansive MDIA, and i agree... but this just isn't the correct way to go about it

Not if those teams are in the top eight in the west. Like the person said before, to be the best you got to beat the best.

And, the best in the west should play the best in the east. Now that's a NATIONAL Championship game.
