Time will tell.. But SJU may have something to say about that.

USD looks unstoppable at the Div. B level, though.

I agree with Sonny. From what I could tell USD is at a different level than the rest of the B's.

I have seen SJU play (twice while I've been here) and I really dont see them being much of a challenge for USD. Keeping in mind that I thought UVSC would have rolled Eckerd, but I had not seen UVSC play this year and I have seen Eckerd play twice before this week.

Eckerd is a fundamentally sound team. Their defense is better than average and they have some incredible stick checks. Their offense is somewhat nonexistant with the exception of the Vasilas twins. It seems that everything goes through those two. If a team has the poles that are athletic enough they should be able to shut them down. Give credit where credit is due, the Vasilas twins are some of the best in the nation at their level.

Lil Lady - to answer your question about who I would put them up against in Div A... I would hesitate to put them against LU or Oregon but they would be ranked somewhere around 13-15 in this tournament. The difference is that Div A players are just plain faster, bigger and stronger. USD is the fastest team out of the B's but to compare them week in and week out with the top 12 would be very hard for me at this point. I may have a clearer picture towards Saturday night but its hard to compare.

I was not saying that Eckerd could beat any team in the Div. A team but merely that they have lifted their game to a new level. And no matter what a team that can put up 22 points on any team in a national tournament is pretty ligitmate to take on a 13-16 seeded team in the Div. A.

But in agreement with everyone San Diego is a step above everyone else in Div. B

I'll chime in here- I haven't seen some of the other Div. B teams play, but I would be very, and emphasize the very, surprised to see any other team take the championship. They won last year, and the team I saw at WCLL finals will win the final. It looks as though that team is in Plano, so I think there is a long stretch for any team looking to snatch the title.

What happened to UVSC? A #2 seed giving up 22 goals is very surprising. I never would have thought I would see that from them.
If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.

Paging Danny Hogan. Was a new record set for this? Vasilas went for 6-3 against Augustana.

Seemed like almost every goal in the first half was one on one with the goalie and very few if any slides from the UVSC defense. UVSC finally started playing in the second half but it was WAY too late against a very good Eckerd team.

I know UVSC isn't at full strength during this tournament, but their defense was certainly sub-par in the first half...I don't think I saw a save or a slide the whole time I was watching. They did have a fantastic season this year and are a great team...good luck to them for the future and congrats to Eckerd on the upset.

10 goals and 12 points for Raymond Vasilas was the tournament record, yesterday in the Div. B Quarterfinals. SJU will have their hands full. The game is about to start.

Now they are coming out and putting numbers on the board that so far are unrivaled even by Div. A teams. I think they could could compete and win in the Division A bracket.

What does anyone else think?

I think that this should be nominated for the "Overstatement of the Year" award.

It most likely is a record for goals in B and A, but not for points in A. Most likely most goals and points for B div.

Nah, Chris Pike from A&M had 12 goals in a consolation game in 2002. I think that's the record.
