Redneck adventures

Postby semilaxed on Fri May 05, 2006 3:51 am

Last time I was home in NC i was driving to a party and i had directions complete with road names. The only problem was that all the roads were named after the family's that lived in the area. Needless to say im driving around in the middle of no where lost because all the signs i was looking for except one had been stolen by the people there named after. It was like a jeff foxworty joke come to life. and yes in the directions it did have turn off the paved road.

O and if your taking the back way to the highway in tallahassee you probably have taken High road to stoned dr.

Having a sense of humor equivalent to a 12 year old again is great...

Near my family's cabin in Northern WI there's a private drive called Softick Rd.

In Spokane, we have a street called "Lacrosse." My real estate agent was determined to find me a house on that street. I told him that the street sign, alone, will do... 8-)

I also remember that there is a town called Natick (MA) that has a street named after Doug Flutie- Flutie Pass.

Maybe in Andover that would be Barium Pass. Yuk.

I grew up and now work in Andover but I don't get the reference.

Just "Dad" humor--sorry--I'm remembering when my younger son, as a baby, was in the hospital to have what they called a "barium swallow". It's a liquid barium substance that allows radiology to trace its path within the kid, to diagnose certain throat problems, etc.

Anyway, it's nasty and eventually "passes". [/quote]

Ok, this might end this topic. In Duluth, MN there is the Richard I. Bong Bridge. I guess you could shorten it to the Dick I. Bong Bridge.
