Ok second round matchups are

Eastern:

Senators vs. Sabres

Hurricanes vs. Devils

Western:

Sharks vs. Oilers

Avalanche vs. Mighty Ducks

most people thought that Dallas and Detroit would easily sweep through the West and the winner of those two would win the cup. I was hoping for a battle of Alberta but the Ducks spoiled that in game 7. What are everyone's predictions?

Since there's already been a couple of games played already this round it seems a little biased, but I think it will be

East:

Sens in 7

Devils in 6

West:

Sharks in 5

Avs in 6

since i was right on those up-sets: here's my final four: ottawa, carolina, edmonton and colorado. i think jersey's over-rated, and i've been an oiler fan since i was about six... sens still to win the cup, even though emory didn't look so hot yesterday... tonight, it's gotta be the suns...

Who is Ilya Bryzgalov and why is he good at his job? There must be something in the water in Anaheim...first Giguere had that amazing run a few years ago, and now this guy.

Just chalk it up to a goalie getting hot at the right time. It can happen to anyone. Everyonce in a while a goalie gets to the point where the puck looks like a really big puck (can't say beach ball, analogy wouldn't fit). Look at the eastern conference, they got a lot of rookies making their first swim through playoffs, just playing out of their minds. It can happen.

I thought I'd dig up this thread being as the Stanley Cup Finals are showcasing some really good games so far. I've watched all 3 games that NBC has televised, (since I work at an NBC affiliate, I'm getting paid to watch hockey!) and all 3 games have been, in my opinion, amazing to watch. Has anyone else been watching?

Last nights game was incredible. The Oilers finally showed some fight, something they've been seriously lacking since the series started. I'm indifferent about these two teams because I'm a Toronto fan, but I'd like to see Edmonton make it close, being that their an 8 seed and, correct me if I'm wrong, no 8 seed as ever won (or was it made it to the finals?).

Keep the cup it in the South where it belongs!!!! Did I hear right that Edmonton arena scheduled some kid's show the same night as game 6? Talk about no faith.
