I plan to have a more official press release in the fall or so, but I thought I'd get some info out there. Since resigning from the PCLL, I have started organizing a new league in the northeast. With the help of the Tufts University club team, it has happened. The new league is called the North East Collegiate Lacrosse League (NECLL).
For our first year, we decided to just have a tournament this year... you know, start small and all that. Four teams played in the tournament... Tufts, University of Vermont, College of the Holy Cross, and Western New England College. In the first rounds, UVM defeated Tufts and WNEC defeated Holy Cross. In the consolation game, Tufts defeated Holy Cross. In the final game, the UVM Catamounts won the first ever NECLL tournament in a decisive win over Western New England.
Now the planning starts for next year. We want to have a full season and we want more teams. We have commitments from other teams such as Assumption and Brandeis. This is all new so we are basically taking any team willing to make a commitment to helping this league grow and succeed.
Any teams interested in this new endeavor, please e-mail me at pcll_gregg@hotmail.com. And I'd love to hear what people think, so feel free to discuss in this thread.

why do we need another league in new england?
I think that all 4 of the teams that you mentioned would be excellent additions to the PCLL
what is the reason for trying to make a whole new league?

Tufts, Vermont and Holy Cross all have varsity teams, therefore can not be allowed into the PCLL. I think Greg is trying to start an organized league of the club teams that fit that description.
Gregg, UMASS-Amherst would be a great team to contact. We played them this year, and they definitely have some pretty good talent. If you need their contact info, PM me.

The varsity thing is exactly why I started the new league. I believe WNEC has a varsity team as well, don't they?
Tim, I was in contact with UMA, but I think communication broke down. I'll PM you... hopefully you have a different contact so something can get done.
