With UCSB playing UCSD in the first round and then the winner playing Sonoma, it looks like two of the five being outed rather quickly.
Then you got Cal Poly playing Florida State in the first round, there is another gone... Now, Arizona is playing Oregon and if they survive that then they get matched up with CSU. Good bye Zona.
So, after the first two rounds, it looks like there will be one WCLL team left.
Any thoughts?

1. I think many feel Poly will beat FSU. FSU cannot handle Poly's attack. If Poly wins, they face Colorado, a team they could very well beat. This is also assuming that Colorado does not stink it up like they have done in past years. If Poly does beat CU, they are in the Final 4.
2. Arizona plays Oregon, and undoubtedly that will be a tough matchup. However, a team that you disparaged in another forum (Poly) beat Oregon, and in turn, Arizona beat Poly this past weekend. Regardless, I think either team will have their hands full in the next round and will probably lose to CSU.
3. Sonoma, UCSD, or UCSB will also reach the Final 4.
So there is a good possibility that 2 WCLL teams will be in the Final 4, however any more than 2 is definitely a stretch.

I had as my only upset in the first round Cal Poly against FSU. The problem with FSU's schedule is that they don't play enough for everyone to know how good they are- this of course can go either way (as it clearly did last season). The thing that's tough for me, is that after they've played their whole season, I still can't get a solid read on the quality of their win. I think it will be interesting to see the game, since it literally could come down to a battle of the two attacks.

What?? Do you realize that UCSB and UCSD play eachother? So the winner of that game, which will not be both of them, then plays Sonoma (or Northeastern but who are we kidding) which then only one (not both) of those teams will move on. You can't take the winners and losers to move on in the tourney... Any objections?

Yes, I do object.
Let me repeat:
UCSD, UCSB OR Sonoma will make the final 4. The operative word being "or" not "and".
Thus one of those 3 teams will be in the final 4. In addition, Cal Poly definitely has a chance to make it to the final 4 because I feel they match up well with the teams on their side of the bracket, hence there is a good possibility that there will be 2 WCLL teams in the final 4. It's not rocket science Gummi Bear.

That is a fair question, but who are you directing it towards? Remember, it is email, it is hard to detect emotions.

I guess I misunderstood the idea of Cal Poly surviving in their bracket. Cal Poly is a great team but I don't see that happening. My negligence caused me to think that you stated two from UCSB, UCSD, and Sonoma were going. Either way, we all know that Michigan is going to win it all.
