this darkestblood guy is a dude I played with in high school who I talked to yesterday after the elon liberty game. he's a bitter dude, who never played lax past high school, and hates Liberty because he does not agree with their views. i appologize for his posting on here. they are a waste of time. He has no clue who half of these teams on here are, and definatly doesnt know half about what he's talking about. Ignore him, he just wants to start crap and get people wound up over nothing. I made an account to clear things up. sorry.

Based on a report from an actual St Mary's player, the attackman is only 6'5. He scored 4 garbage goals but did not create for himself.
Good luck liberty. Thanks for working towards the growth of club lax.

We appreciate all the kind thoughts from everyone wishing us well. The game hasn't materialized yet and if it doesn't happen soon, we may not get the game in at all. We are pretty banged up right now and happy to be 3-0 with the major injuries we have at midfield and attack. We look to get healthy and get ready for our road trip to Louisiana and then back home to take on App State 1 April at Liberty. App State is a great team and we will need to be at our best. We will not underestimate anyone on our schedule, I can assure you of that.
We have the one game at a time thought process. Having a 3 week break after Elon was great scheduling by Coach Westfall, we need the time to rest and heal up.
Elon was a "superbowl" type game for us and we are lucky to have come out on top. Anyone who saw that game can tell you it was back and forth the whole game. Both teams were talented. There was some times when the game went very sloppy on both ends, but for 3 quarters it was very much ball control. Our face off guy was injured and we had an inexperienced back up so we only won 2 faceoffs all game. I credit our man down and our goalie for getting us the win. Cory Noseworthy on attack stepped it up again for the injured Michael Dean. Can't wait to see what these two can do when they are both healthy.
As for darkestblood, you won't hear anything out of me on the subject further, kinda what I figured...'scuse me now, I gotta go check on my Red Sox at Spring training!!

6'8" is fine by me. I'll hit anything moving on the field!! Twice. It will take more than one guy to beat our team anyways. Our defense is pretty rough with attackmen. They will have to beat us with the midfield. I'll take on any challenge and I would love the chance to play a varsity program. I hope it all works out and if it does I will enjoy every second.
Last time we played a NCAA program was two yrs ago against Limestone's freshman team or their JV squad, don't remember exactly, except the fact that we got killed. But this isn't the same team from back then.
As for the field, I really don't care. I will play them in the road, I really don't care where.
As for this darkestblood character he needs to worry about himself.

this is true, i can attest for liberty having one of the hardest defenses i have every played against, and they went light on me when i was on the team, i'd hate to face another defense like libertys.
Lom, i think only a few of us remember the limestone game. and i remember us holding up against them better than the other two teams at the tournament. Imagine the force of their varsity squad. hope the game happens.

Guys,
I of all people want this game to happen but we are in no shape to play Scad let alone Lynchburg College. I can tell you it will happen in the future but at this point it is my opinion that we need time to heal. I would feel a lot better if Michael Dean and Jake Redmond along with Isaac Gilwilt were all in the line up to compete with Lynchburg. If for not the Defense I'm not sure we could have taken Elon. The Coaching staff will make a decision on this in the next few days but my feelings are we better get our stuff together or we may face a Team like Scad that could very well beat us. If we take these next couple of weeks off we will be strong enough to roll through the Spring trip and come home and finish strong in the season. Again I wont feel comfortable till Dean is full force along with Isaac and Jake back winning those face-offs. We can't ask Cory to do everything. We need to set up more options and this will happen if we are healthy.

Lets Play em...
Liberty should really step up to the plate and play Lynchburg. This is a perfect oppertunity to really get Libertys name out there. I dont think Lynchburg would take us seriously. I think we could shock some people in that game. Liberty has 3 weeks off till the next game so we should def. put them in our schedule.
I wanna see how we can do against a legit varsity team. Not that many teams get the oppertunity to play a varsity team. It would be real good for recruiting at Liberty.
So lets get this game on the schedule and lets go bring all they got especially that giant attackman they got. We got someone for him.Woody. I never back down from a challenge.

If the team is as banged up as Coach Westfall says, then it's probably not a great idea to take the field against a DIII opponent. Getting your name out there isn't as important as building a solid team that plays together. Going out there half strength and getting raped by a DIII team is not the way to attract recruits. I'm sure Liberty is moving in the right direction, attracting quality players and getting better every year. But don't fool yourself into thinking that even a solid Div A squad has a great chance of beating an average div III opponent.
I am actually surprised that Lynchburg would even consider taking this game this late in the season, unless they had other teams drop out, or just have not utilized their total number of contests (17 I think). The chance of injury IMHO far exceeds any potential for the team getting value from the experience, unless it was supposed to be all Freshman, or no starters, or something. Due to the location of both teams, I would have simply thought this to be a much better fall matchup.
I guess I'm also a little surprised that it was posted in the forum before it was a done deal.
Good luck whether or not the game goes off.

Here is a link to the online LC schedule:

No mention of any non-varsity competition. Although the Va Tech Lax web site claims they are playing the Lynchburg JV squad on 3/23/05:

Guys:
I make the final decisions on the LU Lacrosse schedule not any of you. Sonny you have nothing to do with LU Lacrosse so I don't know why you even put your two cents in. Steve the head coach at Lynchburg College was looking for a game for his bottom 20 Players on his varsity squad or as Sonny says their JV. They have 40 Players on their Team and the coach at LC was looking to get them some game expeience with us and Virginia Tech.
There has been no decision as of yet to play them. We have been going back and forth with a time and date but Steve and I have not been able to agree on anything. We are banged up a bit and I feel this rest will get us up to par where we need to be. We may play Lynchburg College and we may not no decision has been made at this time.

Just posting information John. You originally gave some misinformation at the top of this thread:
John Westfall wrote: The Lynchburg College Coach contacted us and we are working on setting up a game with Lynchburg College's Varsity squad. Lynchburg is a ranked D3 program in the NCAA.
There is a big difference in playing Lynchburg's varsity squad (#19 in NCAA Div. 3) and the Lynchburg JV squad. You might want to wait to post "something" when you decide to schedule them. Until then, this is all idle speculation.

I hear you Sonny and you make a good point. But Lynchburg does not have a JV squad.

They have a club team that Coach Koudelka frequently puts guys on that he wants to stick with the program even though they would not make the varsity team, especially freshmen.
