Washing Gear
Pulling out my 7 year old chest protector is now considered a job for a haz-mat team. Granted that the smell now gets me pumped up, but perhaps I could tone it down a little bit. Anybody got some tips on washing pads?

If you don't think you can throw it in the washer (I would guess most shoulder pads/chest protectors cannot be)...I picked up a little spray bottle from Westwood Sports that is made for hockey equipment. It is called 'Hockey Scents,' you just spray it on the pads and it deodorizes and sanitizes the pads. I guess it just pulls out the bacteria, ultimately getting rid of the smell. It's not great but it does decently well...

You can put it in the washer, just wash on cold but dont use soap. Just let the clean water rinse through it.
Ironically in college we had a self car wash next to our apartments.... that did pretty good getting equipment clean.
