Also the first time since 2003 that a team scored 10 goals against UCSB (Florida at National tourney).

No, 4 years at the maximum. They lost at least one time at the Pit in 2002. Still an impressive run.

UCSD beats UCSB again!
You know Santa Barbara figured that they would save money on travel by hosting the final four . . . but to not be playing in the final four . . .
Who wants to talk about the playoff seeding again?
It ain't broke. In fact, if the WCLL still used the North/South line of old, then:
#1 North Sonoma State vs #2 South UCSD, and
#1 South Arizona vs #2 North Cal Poly.
The system works fine. The reality is there are always more than 4 teams in the WCLL with serious chances for the national tournament. There is no easy road, and whoever wins the WCLL deserves their championship.
So throw your tortillas and start your chants:
ole . . . ole . . . ole . . . the Gauchos will be at home for the final four next weekend in Santa Barbara . . . but not the way they hoped.

Just wanted to wish good luck to Cal Poly in the playoffs. They were a very good, skilled team. Also, wanted to say that I was real proud of the way my team, UCD, played today...we made a lot of mistakes but hung in there with a great team in Poly and have made some huge strides toward having success with top 25 competition. Good luck, Poly.

thanks benson, I'll pay you later.
As far as replying to the bunny, nothing really to be said. Many people surely hoped for the reign of the Gaucho's to end, and gloated with glee when they faltered. Such is the nature of those who have dealt with the looming shadows of natural rivals. When the mighty fall, the weak rejoice.
Perhaps a team that hasn't done much in the past decade or so will take the cake this year? And with that I glance at UCSD or Cal Poly- talented teams in search of a little hardware. Perhaps this is their year to cast a looming shadow?
It would be nice to have someone different drink from the cup...

Glad to see the mandible is out of retirement.
And whoever ends up with that cup, I'd be careful drinking from it.
You don't know where it's been.

Don't feed the trolls.
Congrats to UCSD for winning at the Pit. I'm sure UCSB will make some more noise before this current season is completed.

God knows where it has been. I know Mandible has drank from it...that is reason enough not to drink from it ever again.

As a Gaucho fan I congratulate UCSD on a great game. They played hard and won. My son who is a Gaucho, said that UCSD was one of the classiest teams they'd played all year. Go on and beat Sonoma please, and then maybe we get a rematch at Dallas!
Best of luck to the Tritons!
Oh Yea, Rabbit - Go crawl back into your burrow and work on some more witty comments - those last ones were just priceless!!!

Just out of curiosity, how many of you folks are going to be traveling to SB to watch the games? I'll be there for sure.
And if you're not going... you're always welcome to receive some live updates... (pm me if you're interestend) [/shameless plug]

I'll be there on Sunday for the Championship games. Not quite sure what my Saturday schedule is yet, but I may be able to post updates for the earlier game. Won't know 'til the morning though.
