On a night where the rain and lightening was supposed to come early the games got under way. At a beautiful Northview High School stadium Florida took the field first against Wake Forest. Wake jumped out to an early lead before being matched and quickly overtaken by the Gators. The Wake goalie stood on his head early in the game before the Florida shooters adjusted their shots, appearing to shoot higher as the game went on. Florida went on a huge run before Wake started to climb back into the game. It seemed too little too late as Florida added several late fourth quarter goals to seal the game. The second game of the night pitted Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech against eachother. VT came out firing jumping out to a very quick 5 goal lead at the end of the 1st quarter. To GT's credit the offense fought back, trading goals for the most part to a 9-3 VT lead. The Hokies then went on a second long run to extend the score to a 12 goal lead. The Yellow Jackets fought hard in the Fourth, scoring the final 3 goals of the game. The Jackets fought hard but in the end it was Virginia Tech's day as the game was never in any serious doupt.
I still highly suggest that you read Sonny's articles on the two games. He had a much better view of the game since I was standing next to a fence. This is just a couple quick observations of the games and it is pretty much from memory.
