Seeding is based on the overall record of the 7 required games for each team at Division A. In the event of a tie, the following is reviewed to break that tie.

1. Head to head competion (required games only)
2. Point differential not to exceed 8 points (required games only)
3. Coin toss

These required games are the other teams in your division only?

This is the current point differential and remaining games of all the teams in the grlc. This makes these week very important. Every team in the confrence would greatly appreciate one extra day to prepare, as well as would rather only play two games back to back as oppose to three.

Big 12

Mizzou +44 6 games played 2 left (Ill., Ill. State)
Kansas -4 6 played 2 games remaining (Kansas State, Missouri State)
Kansas State -40 6 played 1 game remaining (Kansas)
MSU -30 6 played 2 games remaining (Kansas, Nebraska)
Nebraska -57 6 played 1 game left (Missouri State)

Big 10

Lindenwood +58 5 played 2 games remaining (Ill State, Iowa)
Illinois State +24 4 played 3 games remaining (LU, Iowa, Mizzou)
Illinois + 37 6 played 2 game remaining (Wash U, Mizzou)
Wash U +28 6 played 1 game remaing (Illinois)
Iowa -69 6 played 2 games remaining (LU, Ill. State)

If teams play more than the seven required games, (Mizzou, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri State) how will the extra games be factored in to the point differential to establish rankings for teams with the same records, and no head to head games?

And sorry about the previous post i didnot completely read the earlier post.

Normally the crossover games were decided at the league meeting by a random draw so those games are the x-required games (7?). Any other game is extra and is not counted in the conference record or counted towards the goal-differential tiebreaker.

I am guessing this is still used this year.

Here is the correct goal-differential for the GRLC tiebreaker

Team (Record) goal-differential Opponents left
Lindenwood (5-0) 30 Iowa & ISU
Mizzou (5-0) 26 Illinois & ISU
ISU (4-0) 18 Iowa, Lindenwood & Mizzou
Illinois (3-2) 19 Washington & Mizzou
Washington (3-3) 14 Illinois
Kansas (2-3) 0 MSU & KSU
KSU (2-4) -20 Kansas
MSU (1-4) -19 Kansas & Nebraska
Iowa (1-4) -25 ISU & Lindenwood
Nebraska (0-6) -42 MSU
The Illinois vs. Kansas & Missouri vs. Iowa games do not count toward GRLC standings.

It is the total points you won or lost by (maxed out at 8)

Example
Illinois 19
Illinois - 11 vs. Lindenwood - 13 -2
Illinois - 14 vs. Iowa - 0 8
Illinois - 10 vs. ISU - 13 -3
Illinois – 18 vs. KSU - 8 8
Illinois - 14 vs. Nebraska - 0 8

Thanks AJ, I'm glad you got to that one before I did.

There's all kinds of possibilities for LU, MU, ISU, U of I, WUSTL, KU, MSU and even KSU to get into the tournament.

Iowa and Nebraska have already been eliminated due to head to head competition and point differential.

Like AJ and myself have said already, 8 points is the max -either losing by or winning by that we count.

Should be a good weekend all around the league. It looks like any team left with a 3-4 record will be vying for that 6th seed. Any team with 4 + wins is in.

According to the GRLC website there are already 6 teams with 4+ wins. So wouldn't that mean that LU, Mizzou, Illinois, Illinois State, Wash U, and Kansas State are pretty much in? And only KU could cause some waves if they won out?

By the way the stats didn't seem right to me as far as Div wins and such. Kansas State shows 5 div wins but they only have 2 maybe 3 right? So I think the above can't be correct. Clarity anyone? :?

The website includes all GRLC games A or B & required or not. The records I posted above are the correct ones for the tournament selection.

A.J., I've got different totals for Mizzou and Iowa:

Missouri beat KU by 1, KSU by 15 (8), Nebraska by 22 (8), Wash U by 3 and MO St by 6 = 26

I think the discrepancy there was the MO St. game, where it was originally reported 11-6, but on the GRLC website it shows 12-6. I honestly have no idea which is correct.

Iowa lost to Ilinois by 14 (8), Wash U by 17 (8), Kansas State by 4, Kansas by at least 8, and they beat Nebraska by 3. = -25

Not much of a difference, but it could come into play. I could definitely be wrong as well.

You are correct. The score for the Mizzou / MSU game must have changed after I put it in my chart. The Iowa total was just shoddy work on my part. They are out of the mix so I did not double check the total. Thanks

Chris -

I think you need to check on the required games and see if Kansas State is indeed still pretty much gauranteed in. I think you'll find that is incorrect. They are sitting at 2-4 right now, not as you reported with 4+ wins. The 4+ wins comes in if you count all of the Div. B opponents they've played.

Also, the game that MU/MSU played was held Friday night which as reported by Missouri on the league's website is 11-6 and the game which shows up as being played on saturday and reported by MSU on the league's website is 12-6. Only MSU or MU knows the true score, but I doubt that Kyle would post an inaccurate score, so I'd go with the 11-6.

It's always been explained to me that forfeits - and I guess no contest games where the other team doesn't play for whatever reason, do not count in the standings as a win. In this case with Nebraska not playing, then MSU can't claim that as a win and therefore can only finish at best 2-4, in lieu of at best 3-4. This will knock them out of the playoffs, assuming that it will take at least a 3-4 record to get in to the playoffs.

Our Conference Commissioner will have to be the one that resolves this situation.

Yeah I figured it was all jacked up just bringing it to attention. Everything will be sorted out in a couple of days anyway.
