NHL Playoffs are here!

For the hockey aficionados...

Who do you think will win the Stanley Cup?

Eastern Conference

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Ottawa Senators
Montreal Canadiens vs. Carolina Hurricanes
New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils
Philadelphia Flyers vs. Buffalo Sabres

Western Conference

Edmonton Oilers vs. Detroit Red Wings
Colorado Avalanche vs. Dallas Stars
Anaheim Mighty Ducks vs. Calgary Flames
San Jose Sharks vs. Nashville Predators

I am so darn mad at New York Rangers for bombing of late when they did not clinch their division and lost out to Ottawa for the best record. What they got is to play New Jersey Devils who leapfrogged to win the division. Grrrr... Well, I will root for the Rangers to win it all, but there are other teams that have legitimate chance to win it all.

Detroit is too deep... They'll hoist Lord Stanley's Cup for sure.

Detroit and Dallas will meet in the Western Conference Finals, and as far as Im concerned, that will be the stanley cup winner. Detroit is deep yes, but nobody is as deep as Dallas on the back end. Their forward pose interesting matchups with any team. They can skate a checking line that can score, two scoring lines, and a checking line with speed. Detroit will be tough, but i have to go with my stars to win their second stanley cup.

RED WINGS SUCK!!!

(they don't really suck, but it is just something we say here in Dallas)

They have talent, but they suck. The fans suck, and of course claiming themselves as "Hockeytown USA" really really sucks.

Obviously Stars fans and Avs fans would feel this way towards the Wings as they have dominated the Western Conference for God knows how long. Just be glad that you face teams with that high level of emotion from their fans who take pride in their team, instead of having to deal with idiotic fair-weather Lightning fans every day. Im talking about the fans who didnt care about their team until they made it to the Finals...If the Lightning win the Cup again Im predicting the coming of the Apocalypse shortly after.

The Stars are a much better team than anyone gives them credit for being. I know the Red wings are good, but they irritate me with their "Hockeytown" painted in the middle of the ice. They have been a great team since the mid-90's no doubt, But if the underestimate the Stars like everyone else is then they will be in a world of hurt. I think a Stars-Wings series will be one of the best in hockey history. 6 or 7 games. Epic, Epic, Epic.

But we will see. I am looking forward to a nice opening round matchup with the Avalanche.
