Winston Taylor has shown alot of improvement and heart as goalie for us. He has step his game up alot this year with the fact he has a starting defense that consist of 2 guys who have never played before and one guy who has experience. I haven't played against Kurzweil this year or Mike G. from TSU..but I remember last year they did an outstanding job..but there still are more games to be played

yea well garrett cox scored on himself vs. tech. kurzweil will be looking to move up from 3rd team all american this year ... wouldn't be suprised if he made 2nd team at all and based on his 3rd team honors from last year, not only is he the best goalie the LSA has but he is also the best player.

Clearly, we should all understand that hands down, Chuck Norris is the best goalie in the LSA.

... That being said, Kurzweil comes in at a close second ...

I thought David McKee was the best goalie. I realized he played for the Cornell hockey team. He is one of our Texans, and so is Chuck Norris. If Chuck Norris were a goalie, what would be his style of play in the net?

I should probably clarify ...

Chuck's goaltending style is based on deterrence ... too bad no one's ever had the balls to shoot on him.

Round house kicks

Chuck Norris doesn't use a stick to make saves.

Chuck Norris uses roundhouse kicks.

Considering Garrett is as old as me and still playing, I would say he's the best goalie in the LSA. Oh...and he scored on himself...that's double points.

Here is a story about a great guy who has played absolutely incredible for us in goal. The story was just published in the UTA newspaper The Shorthorn on Thursday. There is one inaccuracy, at the time they were collecting info for the story we weren't sure what seed we would be in the playoffs. Will has been great for us.

A Goal to Live For
Will Hackney won’t let liver illness keep him from the lacrosse field
Story by: Chad Nothe
The Shorthorn staff
The Shorthorn: Rebekah WorkmanGoalie William Hackney is deafeating more than just opponents with the Maverick lacrosse team. Hackney has been battling liver failure since he was 17 years old.Second chances don’t came along too often.

But Will Hackney has a different type of luck.

The psychology senior was able to return to the playing field after liver failure kept him away from sports.

Hackney is in his third season with the UTA lacrosse team but has been battling liver failure since the age of 17. He has sclerosing cholangitis, which is constriction in the bile ducts of the liver that disables proper drainage. If not drained properly, the liver can inflate and cause pain.

“The proper liver enzymes are supposed to be under 40,” he said. “My liver enzymes elevated to almost 5,000, which caused major inflammation.”
