As i've been on the receiving end of both Hart and Whitehead, I would have to go with Cody as the better lax player overall. I strongly believe that when it comes to determining the best of the best that team play must come into account. Hart is a selfless player who has a lot of weight put on his shoulders from his teammates. I think Whitehead's #'s alone speak for his "team play." When it comes to southern oregon I would give props to the middie #27, dont know his name, but I considered him SOU's best player. Although he didn't have the raw talent Whitehead does, his all around play was much more impressive.

sunday was my first game without a warning.

hooray!

i would blame painkillers for the streak, but i was off them before our spring break...

there's strength in numbers chris.

ps: whitehead should have at least twenty more assists.

In response to the stuff about Cody, it is alot easier to hold down a team with only one star player. A team like Montana or PLU can kill you differant ways. We gotta give props to Cody for putting up the numbers he does when teams can single him out, especially after a 5, 7 and 10 goal outputs to start the season. In response to the Whitehead stuff, it seems like he's picking up the assists later in the season, maybe getting more comfortable with his team, you can see increased goal out puts from the attack on that team (Alex White, Chris Shisler). But i guess we'll see how he handles himself in the play-offs.

Just since nobody's mentioned him yet...and since I had a really hard time thinking of midfielders to vote for for All-Conference awards...I gotta throw Jake Bagley's name out there. This kid has the quickest split dodge I've seen out here and actually shoots better with his off hand. On top of his offensive skill, he is also an incredible rider and plays great body defense around the goal. We're really happy to have him healthy this year for playoffs...I just think his numbers might get a little overlooked on this team. Speaking of that as well, I think it's important to mention just how dominant Townsend still is...we've been really fortunate to pick up Zander this year and he is a phenomenal lacrosse player, but I still think it's a lot harder to stop Townsend from getting to the cage. There have been a lot of people in the league that have had good scoring years, which I think is a testament to how much better the league is getting as a whole, but Townsend is still pretty much on pace with his season last year where he was named league Offensive MVP.
Lacrosse in Montana...

Let's change this just a bit. Just to throw some more names out there. Who are the best middies, d-poles and goalies that you have played AGAINST this year?

The hardest guy for me to cover this year was Jamison Whitehead, hands down. However, our schedule did give us Albertson or Montana, so I don't know how valid this is.

best netminder- blake godet: smaller keeper, but made up for it in stick speed and positioning. will only get better as his d starts to follow his direction.

best d-pole- joe english: his speed allows him to play you as far out as you want to take him, and then recover from your initial move. always in your stick when trying to pass or catch. can't imagine being any shorter and playing against him.

best middie- kevin chase. only midfielder that stands out in my mind. plays the game well both directions.
new and improved.

Lots of the posters are dealing with this all right now, and it is difficult. For instance, I can think of atleast 1 team that I thought their best player was Player A, but they believed it was Player C, someone not even on my radar, and I WATCHED THEM PLAY 3 TIMES!

It is up for debate, and it is very interesting, but points aren't necessarily the bottom line for productivity on the field. Some of my best games playing I didn't score more than 2 points, and the same is true here. How do you quantify Olsen/Hall's ride? How do you put a number on how well Frey/Baumstark/Snell/Roark can put pressure on the ball during man down, & force turnovers by being on the feild alone? It's difficult, but I'm going to clean this up and make a few polls... Feel free to email me with other suggestions, but this will make it a start.

Are you gonna put up polls for Defenders/Goalies?
