i ain't queer or nothin', but i'd say whitehead's the prettiest of them all.

granted i haven't seen hart with his helmet off.

as for the penalties, let's call it a work in progress.

I think that an effective offensive player needs to be able to view the field and be willing to pass to his teammates when they are in scoring position. Assists go a long way in my book. That's all I'm going to say.

Townsend is much more of a threat this year to good defenses not because he is better than he was last year, but because Ault takes away some (and a big some) degree of the focus from Hall.

I agree that Ault and Hall are dangerous, but that freshman on their attack, Will Freihofer, is pretty damn good too. I agree with everything you're saying, and I think when you have a third attackman that plays great team ball, your chances of success go up exponentially from a two-man crew. Olsen, Hushagen and now freshman Tkachuk of PLU also pose a pretty fantastic trio.

Are goalies being left out of this equation?

Anyways, I know I am biased, but I am going with Hart. Burke has turned out pretty good this season, but this is his first time ever playing attack. He was a goalie in high school. Therefore, Cody is working with two first year attackman. Not to mention the third attackman, Matt Weaver, never played lacrosse before this season!

Take in to account that only ONE of Albertson's middies played high school ball, and I think Cody's number of assists are amazing. Cody does more with what he has to work with than anybody else...HANDS DOWN!

As for Whitehead, I would take Cody's shot percentage any day of the week. Hart also opens up things for people around him (who can't always finish what he gives them or his assists would be through the roof), and I think Whitehead is more concerned with getting goals.

But...as I said...I am biased.

After playing against both Whitehead and Hart I can say that they are both very good lacrosse players. Both are smart and play hard and both find the way to the goal well. I think that Whitehead is a much more physical player and this is where he has an advantage over a lot of other players in the league. He can just run over some people. However, I think that Hart may be a better lacrosse player overall because of his positioning and the accuracy of his shots. Against us he just kept ending up in exactly the right place at the right time. I think if you matched them both up against a strong, fast and compitent defender Whitehead would have his advantage taken away where as Hart would still find a way to score.

As for defensive players and goalies, the best d-pole I have seen is Dan Snell from Southern O. and the best goalie I have seen so far has been Blake Godet. Symmington is good too but I think that he has a lot more to work with as far as defensive support where as Blake makes the entire Albertson defense run.

biased playing for montana, BUT:

difficult to make a case for hart after this weekend. ryan "weasel" frey clearly was on a different level during the game sunday. crap load of take-aways, a few de-sticks... perhaps hart wasn't having his best game. certainly a dangerous player and good feeder... but weasel owned him yesterday. give it to weez.

again, heavily biased.

I wouldn't say it's hard to argue for Cody after the game against Montana, rather the defender who played him just made a good case for himself.

Against a team like Montana Cody is going to be forced to try and take the team on all by himself...probably drive when he usually wouldn't want to...stuff like that. It is definitily a feat to hold Cody to such a low output, but again, it's a lot easier to do when you don't have anyone else to focus on.

And besides...I don't think it's hard at all to argue for the guy who is leading the league in points per game.
