Boston Marathon

Postby Brent Burns on Mon Apr 17, 2006 8:48 am

Will we see one of our Americans win the Boston Marathon today? Will it be one of the Kenyans or Tanzianians or Europeans winning the annual Boston Marathon?

Will Gregg Pathiakis be watching the Marathon?

Gregg Pathiakis is at my friend's apartment at BU right now pre-gaming before the Sox game. As we leave the Sox game, we will watch the marathon about a mile from the finish.

Happy Patriots Day everybody!

No, sadly you won't see the best American runners in Boston. Meb is good bu the silver in '04 was a fluke. Remember the loon who jumped out and attacked the lead runner.

I do hope they have a thrilling a finish as we had at last year's ING NYC Marathon. What's Boston's bonus should an American win? Enjoy the fried dough!

I would rather be in Massachusetts today as I can have the day off only if I work for the state gov't. However, I wonder what the weather is like now in Boston.

Go Red Sox!

Just read that the Kenyans won the men's and women's race at Boston. The guy from South Africa won his 6th Boston Marathon wheelchair title.

You can check out the complete results of the Boston Marathon at:

http://www.bostonmarathon.org

What Mark Anderson just said is correct with one small correction:

Our Americans came in 3rd, 4th, and 5th respectively. The last time that an American did the best was 23 years old, and that was Greg Meyer. The link that I provided will take time to download because of the obvious traffic volume on that site.

Robert Kipoteoch Cheugiti (sp?) from Kenya set a course record.
