New State of Hockey?

Non-lacrosse specific topics.

I've always argued that there really isn't anything outside of the Cities, except maybe Rochester or, uh, oh yeah Mankato. Wisco spread's it out. And is superior in college hockey, mens and womens, for an entire year.

So deal. :D

Both my roommates are from Wisconsin and they were pretty stoked about the badgers taking home the title, they like to use this joke a lot which i will share with everyone, "What's the difference between a cheese head and a s*** head.....The minnesota state line." Theres my two cents..

I think some people are getting way to worked up about this. Minnesota is the State of Hockey. No other state can claim that. Wisconsin had the best college hockey teams in the nation this year period. When was the last time I sat down to watch the Wisconsin State High School Hockey tournament? Nope, can't say that I have (of course I'm from Minnesota so even if it was hyped as much as Minnesota's I still wouldn't watch it!). Fact of the matter is kids in Minnesota play hockey. I agree that the Badgers have some recruiting clout (facility, coach etc. as previously posted) but the Gophers have a similar draw. Minnesota gave the world Herb Brooks. End of argument.

wisconsin stinks...and sam, stop jocking the team.....

my bad...i didnt know that this was such a claiming point to fame for the state of wisconsin...yeah...we know were phil kessel is from, but were does he play...its like this, if you want the chance to play pro hockey, and play in one of the greatest venues, you go to the U, nuff said...Jordan Leopold's take was the same "I could have went anywhere, but when you have the opportunity to play for the greatest program in hockey history, how can you say no?"

really, i dont care that much, ive never picked up a hockey stick, i just hate wisconsin athletics...
