It literally rolled through the downtown Ped Mall, the heart and soul of Iowa City. Apparently much of it is blocked off and the National Guard is already in town to help clean up and make help assist anything else. Also some gas leaks in the area too.

Sorry to hear about the destruction, hopefully not too many injuries.
The one picture that shows the Tudor house with part of the front missing...is it just me, or is it always weird when you see a house exposed like that? It just seems totally incongruous, like your whole life is on display to the world.

I think it looks like a little girl's doll house.

More Pictures.....Iowa Avenue got hit hard, a lot of old houses. Plus, St. Patty's church which is very old had its roof ripped off....sorry I keep posting on this as I am sure some don't care but this hit me a little bit harder than I thought.

it also reminds me of fight club when his apartment blows up and all his stuff is out for people to see. Including the fridge full of condiments.

To get an idea of the size of these storms that rolled through last night, check out the radar near the end of this video from the Weather Channel. I've not seen cells that large and powerful before in a long, long time.
